Kinky-Curly Knot Today Review

On Friday night, I did my fourth Twist-n-Curl with Kinky Curly Knot Today+DevaCare One C. In order to be fair and balanced, I waited to complete the full review until I had at least a few trials under my belt. I must say, I'm very impressed! So much so, that I bought my aunt a bottle, and bought myself the 32 oz size!!! I can't believe I waited this long to try this product! Thank you NaturallyCurly.com!!!

For the best results, I apply the KCKT to my soaking wet hair after finger detangling with Paul Mitchell the Detangler or Herbal Essence's Hello Hydration. As usual, I section my hair into two, and apply about a quarter size amount of KCKT to each half...any more than that, and the results are gummy or product-y. Trust me on this one, a little goes a long way!

It does exactly what the label claims- it smooths the cuticle, and really detangles the hair. The end result is soft, defined, shiny curls! Usually when my hair is wet, my waves are popping, but my curls are pretty lank- KCKT perks them right up! If you're looking for definition please try this product! The fragrance is pleasant- reminds me of cherries.

The KCKT/Deva One combo is great...but not in humidity. I went out last night (pic below), and left the house with a fluffy yet defined Twist-n-Curl. After standing in a misty rain for 20 minutes and dancing in a cramped and crowded club for several hours, I left with a fluffy fro. It was still fly, but definitely a different look than what I started with. I don't believe this would've happened if I'd styled with Deva+Jessicurl WDT+Deva Set it Free. I tested that combo out MANY times last summer, and my hair never frizzed up. The KCKT doesn't provide the moisture that Jessicurl does, and therefore, my hair soaked up all the moisture in the air, leaving me with lots of frizz. If you have dry hair, I definitely recommend that you couple KCKT with another moisture intensive leave-in. Bottom line: I give this product two thumbs up. The price is decent, and the slip is AMAZING for it to be cone free.
