Nika- A Spin on the Twist-n-Curl

Nika recently submitted some gorgeous pics on her spin on the Twist-n-Curl!

"Instead of curling only the ends I twist and then set the twists on rods." Her results are awesome!

Nice! I tried that twice but it was a hot mess. May it was the products that I used. Do you know what products Nika used for this style?

Anonymous AND prettysunshyne, I don't know what products Nika used but i loved the way my twist n curl came out in the 3rd pic of my testimony. I used SheaMoisture and Organic Root Stimulator Loc and Twist Gel, on damp hair. Have a look :-).

Serita your hair is beautiful! I have been trying to get SheaMoisture but I can't find it on the ground. I have ORS's lock and twist gel and I loves it. Thanks for sharing :)

Hey Ladies,

This is Nika. The first time I did it I used a little Miss Jessies buttercreme for moisture and a little of the fantasia sparkelites gel. However, I've done this quite a few times and realized that it doesn't really matter what products you use - well in my case it doesn't as long as the ends are well moisturized. Oh and if the moisturizer is too heavy it will cause the curls to be puffier and less defined. So it depends on the look you are going for. So in a nutshell damp hair plus a leave in (or light moisturizer) plus a light gel (if you want it too last longer) will be all you need. Many times I don't even use a gel but by the 2nd or 3rd day I have to redo. Oh and I used the flexible rods to spiral curl. Hope this helps.

Ooh, another style to try, more curlers to buy! This is an absolutely gorgeous look!

This is something ill have to try. Right now I do a twist out but curl the curlers all the way to my sclap, which I really like and has been my daily style for about a year, but your pictures look like a neat twist on that. Thanks for sharing.
