Traci's Dry Braid-n-Curl!

Traci writes:

Nik,

Okay, so I was initially resistant (comb out my dry hair and violate the number one commandment of natural hair?! Horrors!) But as you've yet to lead me astray on the fro'ad to healthy natural hair, I decided I would not lose faith now. So take a three day old twist out, (finger) comb (fearfully and carefully), slap on some shea butter, braid, spritz through conditioner/water mix, roll ends, and voila! Life changing!

One thousand thank yous!
Tray

Very lovely and FULL! I love a beautiful braid out. how many braids did you put in? I only use 6-7 with med tension and some coconut oil and it is magical.

Yeah I'd say I do about that amount. I'm gonna try tonight with only four and see what I get

@Lexibugg
I love it too! The artist is Steven Lopez. It's a portrait of Chaka Khan with the lyrics to Stay in the background. I also have one he did of Minnie Riperton as well

How do you roll the ends?

Tray said...

@SheShe I don't braid all the way to the end. I leave about the last 2-3 inches unbraided, apply some Oyin shine and define, and roll it on up!

I can't get my end to look like that :-/.
But your hair looks gorgeous! Thanks, I'll keep trying.

Dat's what's up. Your hair is gorgeous!!!! I just achieved my best twist out to date and just did a dry twist out (last night wearing it now) that is chronicled at the very last part of a hair video I just chronicled at my blog. See it here. I'm so pleased with the soft fluffy defined.
