NikG
, a fellow blogger and friend, sent me an email yesterday notifying me that CN.com is listed in a UK mag as a top resource for natural hair. This came as a very pleasant surprise! CurlyNikki.com was, is, and will continue to be a joint effort... you gorgeous gals and your contributions make this blog happen everyday... you make it the positive and inspirational place that it is. So kudos to us!

I live in London, England and have the magazine. Funny enough I bought it because I wanted to look for a nice weave style. My cousin has an article in it which was a lovely surprise. I skimmed the article about Natural hair as I just had a fresh relaxer a few days prior to buying the mag. Days later I picked it up again and took a real interest in it. I later saw a sisters hair journey ‘longhairdontcare’ on you tube, That’s when it happened…I also wanted to grow long healthy natural hair, it has become somewhat of an addiction, I have to have my daily hair blog/YouTube fix. Most of my family including my Mother, Daughter and two Nieces have Long Natural hair, my sister and I on the other hand have struggled to grow our relaxed hair. I came across your site a few weeks back and have been on it every day ever since, My Daughter says “Mum, your not looking at hair stuff again are you?” Lol. I am a new transistioner, last relaxer 29th May 2010 and already have an inch of growth, My Heavenly Father knew I was going to make that decision and maybe my hair didn't take to the rela didn’t take as it usually does. I am overwhelmed by the amount of support out there for sisters of colour, but I do notice there are a lot of references to the African American woman, which I found strange as there are “African” women all over the world; in the UK we call ourselves Black British. My Husband went to Miami and some one said “I didn’t know there were African Americans in England” We are not American!!! Lol.

Women of colour covers us all.

Curly Nikki, may God continue to bless you and thank you for sharing your gifts.
