Great information....I also think hair growth is tied to genetics, if momma cant grow her hair to bra strap length and nobody on daddies family hair is that length either... chances are you MIGHT NOT see that length either!

I like this! Everyone's hair is different even in families. My great great grandmother, my grandmother and my mother all had long hair down their backs. Her two sisters did not so it depends. My hair is fairly long when straightened but the strinkage is crazy but I love it though. Beautiful illustrations.

I agree that genetics plays an important role in hair growth, in that it dictates how FAST the hair grows, not how long it grows. Some people's hair grows below (and sometimes above) the average rate of 1/2inch per month. So if your hair grows only 1/4inch per month, then it will take you longer to get to mid back length than someone who's hair grows 1/2inch per month. That doesn't mean however, that they'll never get there.
