Love says, “You Lack Nothing..."

When you have God, you have everything you need.

Hello everyone!

Let's continue from where we left off last week. As you are well aware, “Read with Love” has commenced and we have started reading this fantastic new book named, “A Thousand Names of Joy” by Katie Byron and the word fantastic doesn’t even begin to explain the experience I’ve had reading it so far.

I am not stunned too often; but, reading this book has given me pause more times than I am used to or comfortable with, honestly. I haven’t been this touched or intrigued since I started listening and reading Joel Goldsmith a while back. This book is broken down with each chapter being her commentary on a verse from the "Tao Te Ching” . Her commentary consists of personal anecdotes from her life both past and current. I think that is what it is for me and this book. She ties in her life which makes everything very relatable.

Per our homework from Nikki, we were to pick a chapter (we were intuitively led to) in no particular order, to read everyday before we get out of bed and to meditate on what we read. We started with chapters 1-20. Of course I cannot review every chapter I picked because that would be entirely way too much for you; NOT for me! I love speaking to you. LOL

Per usual if you want to learn more, please do yourself a favor, GET YOUR LIFE and join in with us on Mondays at 6:30pm on Zoom.

“I AM already that”- Me. Chp. 15

Katie Bryon comes out of the box swinging in this book. One morning, I was led to chapter 15, and she started off that chapter with, “The Master can’t seek fulfillment. She’s already filled to the brim...” It was difficult to continue reading after that because I felt like my momma just slapped me. Like I was completely put in my place. I had to ask myself, “Akilah, what are you truly seeking? What are you looking for? Where is it? Who do you think is going to give it to you”? The answer stung. I spent a lot of my journey trying to attain things that I felt could only be reached once I was good enough to have it. Moreover, I used that same excuse to make myself feel better when I didn’t get it. I would get extremely down on myself and say things like, “Oh I must not be good enough.” It can be a never ending cycle. “ I AM already that” is something I tell myself when I do not feel adequate or when something doesn’t pan out the way I thought. Who or what else can I possibly be if I AM already filled to brim? As Ms. Bryon would say, “Is it true?” oOnly the Master (me) can answer that.

Whew Moment

Honestly, there were too many to only pick one. Earlier, I discussed how she used personal stories to break down the verses of the “Tao Te Ching”. Well after I got my bearings together in Chapter 15, she went on to tell this story about her friend and his wife and at the end of that story, my jaw was on the ground. I was not expecting that anecdote to end like that AT ALL.

Do not take my word for it....read it for yourself.

With Love, always,
