Fun fact: When that little voice isn’t focused on something productive, like reading this passage, it starts reading you. It’s hella critical and the primary source of your angst and confidence issues. Listen to it the next time you’re idly scrolling IG. Notice how it compares, how it judges and berates...how it’s most attracted to the tea spilling posts and negativity. Notice how when you’re in traffic it chimes in to complain or offer advice on what you should’ve said when your colleague came for you yesterday and what you need to say if she comes for you today. Notice how 99% of the time it’s reminiscing about or regretting the past or projecting into the future (it is actually the only reality the past and future has Now). It never rests... well, it does, when you’re asleep, if it lets you fall asleep.

As you focus on the presence within, it will begin to reveal itself to you. It is a feeling of pure love and bliss, and it is perfection. That presence is the perfection of you. That presence is the real YOU. As you focus on that presence, as you feel love, and praise that presence, you will feel yourself fully, quite possibly for the first time in your life.

I listened to a talk a while ago by Mooji that really stuck with me. He said to imagine you’re at the symphony, listening to a beautiful piece of music. If you were asked to hone in on just the violins, you could, in spite of the other instruments. At first it would take a little effort to bring the violins into focus, but then, with just a little attention, you could keep them in the foreground of the orchestra. To hear the violins, you wouldn’t have to silence the cellos or the clarinets. You wouldn’t even have to tell the rude people sitting next to you to shut up, you’d just have to place your attention, your awareness on the violins. Simple.
Your purpose in every moment is to find and listen to the ‘violins,’ aka the Silence, that’s always available even when the cellos, clarinets, and rude audience members (thoughts, feelings and circumstances) are raging. This Silence is always present... IT is Presence.

Recently, I decided to make a huge change in my life by applying for a job in a field I'm only somewhat familiar with. I touched up my resume and was rejected so many times I wondered if I was meant to permanently be a barista until after three months of applying, something finally clicked.
As it turns out, this job also wanted me to train in a different city for two weeks (all expenses paid!). I was elated! New job! Amazing pay, benefits, and a city I'd never seen!

You probably don’t know the ‘how’ or the ‘when,’ but you always know the ‘WHAT.’ And I’m not talking about the weight loss, the ring, or the bank account, I’m talking about the reason WHY you want that stuff... the happiness, the peace, the joy, the comfort and security you think you’re gonna have when you finally get it. But if you’ve been actually reading my hella long IG captions, you already know that the only way to be happy, is to be happy, now. ‘Then’ is always, perpetually around the corner. It never comes. You have to be genuinely at peace in this moment. You have to be whole to experience wholeness. You have to be love to be loved.
The seeming process is actually a moment to moment decision to either stay stuck in fear, or to move forward in love, to be the old you, or to be HER— and this decision can only be made now... and now... and now... So stay asking yourself who you’re being, and act accordingly. #Rebirth #EveryInstant

“Are you going to cum?” asks my dude of some months, breaking the momentum of going down on me to rub his neck once again.
“Yea. I’m close.”
“You said that 15 mins ago.”
Sigh.
“You can’t have me down here all day.”
“Ok. So what’s the cutoff time?” I ask.
“Hunh?”
“What’s a decent amount of time that you feel comfortable?" I repeat.
“15 no more than 30 mins.”
“That’s plenty!”
“But you already used up 30," he says.
“That can’t be right," I frown.
“You do it all the time.”

Starting tomorrow morning, make a commitment to be present as an objective audience to your inner voice. Like, instead of being ‘the thinker’ of the thoughts, be ‘the listener’ behind them. It’s a simple but necessary shift that you’ll have to keep remembering— just keep falling back and reminding yourself to watch yourself like you’re watching a movie about someone else.
I was reading an article recently about a South Carolina dad whose 8-month-old baby died after being left in a hot car all day. We hear these stories and wonder how this could happen? Actually, statistics show that it happens to the tune of 36 babies dying each year in the United States. We also wonder, who could do such a thing? Well...I did. Thankfully, my baby didn’t die, and I was able to learn some valuable life lessons as a result.
