Smile as you read on. Notice the rise and fall of your breath and the weight of the phone in your hand. Maybe readjust and send some love to your pinky finger if you’ve got it supporting the whole-ass device.

Let’s become aware of Love, now. Feeling Go(o)d, we know this sweet, joyful Presence as the presence of our freedom, of our miracles, of our abundance, NOW. Not tomorrow. We’re not ‘calling It in’, or ‘manifesting’ It in some vague future. The instant we feel It, we got It... and while we’ll watch a series of events unfold to get to that future now, we know, in this now, that IT already IS. #TheBiggestSpoilerAlertEver #IssaHappyEnding

But if Love is being and giving us everything all the time, why do we take so little? How can we receive what we need?

I was watching a dedication to Ram Dass and heard him say ‘love your breath’ for like the millionth time and it clicked. My interpretation- 

1. Become aware that you’re breathing 
2. Smile to your breath (a la #thichnhathanh ), honor it, feel Love for your breath... feel Love in your breath... feel Love as your breath... feel your breath as Love. <—- any of these approaches work like a champ!
3. Recognize that breathing is always happening in the present moment, and if you’re conscious of it, you can become conscious of God, of Love, who is also only NOW, always, already HERE- sounding like Silence, feeling like a current of subtle-Joy.

 ...and then, we scroll and ‘like’ in Joy, and comment and post AS Love. 

You are stronger than your anxious thoughts.

When I started my hair journey almost 20 years ago (not a typo! – it’s really been that long), I stepped all the way into it. I wanted to know everything there was to know. It was as if I was playing catch up after years of not being kind to my hair, not being aware of the beauty that was my hair. It was long overdue. What I discovered during the process was that it really wasn’t about my hair. I mean it was…but not really. I learned some hard truths starting with the fact that not only did I not like my hair, but I didn’t like ME. It was the first step to the healing that I had no idea I needed. 

I was never my biggest fan. I never saw beauty staring back at me when I looked in the mirror but saying it out loud and admitting it to myself hit different.

I'm messaging you today because no matter if you're a Stay-at-Home Mom, or a CEO, or both (!!!), you're feeling the joy of Friday. So I'm just popping in to remind you that this relief you're experiencing, this subtly joyful anticipation for the relaxation ahead... it was present on Tuesday, too. It was 'here' on Monday. This peace... this happiness is always, ALWAYS available to you. But you only allow yourself to feel it on the weekend, on payday, on vacay, during that first sip of coffee or wine at the airport! But here's the thing-- those events and things aren't causing the joy. The joy is NOW, here, always. Grace is here, NOW. RELAX.

In ‘09, I was all about ‘The Secret’... positive thinking... the law of attraction. My limited understanding led me to believe that human excitement and happiness would ‘attract’ the stuff I wanted, and so I set out on the impossible mission of staying in a super elevated mood. I’d be good for a couple of days, and then frustration, anger, or stress would come to visit and I’d feel even worse, because I was mad at myself for being mad πŸ˜‚ Insanity.

10 years later, after hundreds of books and countless hours of daily meditation, I came to view both human excitement and human sadness as deviations... distractions from a truer experience. Beneath the thoughts, and familiar ‘good’ and ‘bad’ emotions is a subtle vibration of peaceful-joy. It’s been called your ‘home vibration’ or the way your soul expresses in your body. It’s a God feeling that transcends even your best good feeling. It’s a flow, a glow, a warmth, an unconditional, uncaused loving silence.
