Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air...

“Read with Love”, is BACK and is live. Nikki took a break from snatching off our edges every week with her diamond cut words. I can’t lie, I missed it. I missed her words. I missed the atmosphere that was created on Mondays at 6:30pm via Zoom. However, homegirl HAS to take care of herself first so she can continue to share with others. She was giving us lessons even by taking time off. Silence is the biggest part of the practice.

So I am going to jump right in with a very brief summarization of the 9/14/2020 group. I say “brief” because as you know I can go past 1000 words in regards to what is imparted. Furthermore, I feel like “group” is a moment that needs to be experienced! You can continue to take my word for it though; I’m cool with that, lol!

I know, I know; but see with me on this one... because SIS has a testimony. I'm gonna tell it!!! Insert *tambourines, foot stomping, and hand clapping* right here. But first:

So as you know we are rocking and rolling in Nikki’s Meditation group and Book club. I can’t believe it as we are almost finished with this current book and there is a chance Nikki might introduce another book into the group. At this point, any book she picks will be awesome; but, I am really hoping it is something by Wayne Dyer cause he is my jam too.

I really do not care if I sound like a broken record in saying, “If you have not decided to join in you are missing out.” If I said it once, I’ve said it a million times and I mean it even more, get yo’self in the group on Mondays. Even if you can not join every week (because yes life happens) at least give it a try 3 Mondays a month LOL!

“The more you go into love, there is no fear."- New Growth Episode 4 Review

I do not know if you know; but, Nikki went ahead and not ONLY blessed us with a meditation group; but, she also has a podcast!  "New Growth with Nikki", it’s cute right? She is making sure we get this message of “love” loud and clear!  I see you Nikki, I see you.

So in the meditation group on Monday, Nikki told us that there was a new episode up and we could listen to it. However, when she further informed us that it was with someone who not only had the opportunity to walk with and learn from THE Joel Goldsmith; because of his mother, Virginia, teaching and touring with Joel, I had to tune in.

Mondays are the happening thing with Nikki Walton in her meditation/book club Zoom group at 6:30pm. However, what I love the most about this group is that you can alway catch the replays if you are unable to attend the live recording. In order to enjoy some of this heat, you have to join her mailing list. GET YOUR LIFE and click here for all of the G(o)odness.

How I Stood my Ground... This Week and Beyond!

by Akilah Peynado of www.akilahpeynado.com

I like to take a very rounded approach to life; but this did not come easily. I used to think and believe that in order for me to be a spiritual person, I had to be extremely pious, “set-apart”, sullen and you can add whatever adjective you think is necessary for consider yourself as someone who is given to the things of God. After much growth, and many trials, and lessons, I learned that I can be exactly who I am authentically and still be a lover of things pertaining to the soul. With that said, please know that this place I am in right now in my life is not maintained by only my pretty looks (I am very beautiful just in case you didn't know!); but by a series of consistent efforts on a regular basis.

"Because you DESERVE to, that’s why!"

by Akilah Peynado of www.akilahpeynado.com

I’m calling all of my fellow Black women into the auditorium for a quick announcement with my bullhorn in my hand. I am going to say this once and for all: “Black Women it is okay to LUXURIATE”! Yes you read that correctly. I do not know about you; but, growing up in the Caribbean/traditional church community I grew up in, it was not common to see women enjoying- without guilt- the finer things in life. There was a lot of “hmm, that would be nice; but, we cannot afford it.” Or, the ever so and still very present, “Oh I can do it myself.” Even worse if a Black woman took too much care of herself, she would be labeled as “siddity” or “bougie” or in some cases “acting white”. Unfortunately this narrative continues to move throughout some conversations that happen in our society today.
