-What is your regimen?
Allow the water of the shower to run through my hair.Co-wash with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration by first letting it sit in my hair. Then I allow the water to run through my hair while I use a shower comb to detangle starting from the bottom of my hair andmoving up to the root (I do half of my hair at a time). I add more conditioner until my hair has lots of slip and I am easily able to run my fingers through it. I wash out some of the conditioner and put in a small dab Aubrey Organic’s Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner on each side of my hair and if I feel like it I will add a leave-in or a bit of gel or both. Leave-ins/Gels I use: Mixed Chicks Leave-in, Blended Beauty Happy Nappy Styles leave-in and the Herbal Essences twisted gel. If I am feeling lazy I will just add a bit of the Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner to my hair and call it a day and a few times a year I deep condition my hair or do a hot oil treatment. Click here.
-What is the one thing you’d tell a newbie to help her on her journey? Be patient and if you want length don’t check how long your hair is every second you get. Allow a good amount of time to pass so you can be surprised. Remember to focus on health rather than length. With health comes long and beautiful hair.
-How do you maintain length?
Keeping up my regimen and staying away from heat! I don’t cut it a lot unless I really need to. Protective styles are good, I stopped doing them though.
-What’s the best thing about being naturally glamorous?!
I can feel genuinely good about myself and my hair because as a childI wanted it to be straight and now I love my hair and couldn’t imagine myself without my crazy curls and spirals 🙂 Not being scared of rain is a big plus. I remember when I used to straighten my hair I would see movies of people kissing in the rain and I would realize that I could probably never do that because I’d be worried that my hair would be ruined! Now I can (and do) kiss my boyfriend in the rain and know that my hair still looks good 😉 Also being able to stand out! I often get comments like “Yea I could tell it was you by your hair”, I don’tmind flaunting my big hair and I enjoy when my friends play with it. I don’t mind that my hair doesn’t sway in the wind, I enjoy how it bounces and flops around. I remember when I first started wearing my hair out and big I was nervous about what people would think. I felt like everyone was staring at me. Now I don’t care what anyone thinks and that has definitely made me more spontaneous. My hair does what it wants and I let it!
