-Were you a long term or short term transitioner, and why?
I set a goal to transition for a year or more, but I realized that I just wanted to chop it off at the 8 month mark and get own with my natural journey instead of holding back
-When did you BC? What was your initial reaction to your natural hair?
I B.C.’d Oct 16th 2005, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I chopped off a big section in the front just so I couldn’t chicken out. Initially, I was like OMG, what did I just do! But once it was all over, I began to love what I saw in the mirror.
-What was your transition routine (products included)?
I got braids on 3 separate occasions during my 8 month transition. I got kinky twists, kept them in for about 2 months, took them out, went to the salon, had it washed, deep conditioned and trimmed – well cut really because it was a little more than a trim. Every time I got braids this is what I did. As far as products go, I used Motions and Patene Pro-v at the time.
-What was your staple hair style during the transition?
Braids. And when I let my hair rest in between I rocked braid- outs, and set the ends on perm rods.
-How did you moisturize your hair to prevent breakage at the new growth line?
I used a lot of water when I did my braid-outs on my relaxed hair. When I was in braids, I would just let it be.
-Why did you choose to go natural?
I saw a friend of mine make the transition, and I was in love. Also, humidity did not mix well with my hair, every time I went outside or just in a humid area, my hair would look a mess.

I have been watching your videos on YouTube! You were a big help to me during my transition. I also wanted to wait a full year but felt really ready at the 8 month mark:) I love your hair and thank you for making your videos!
