Kinky-Curly Knot Today!!!

Christmas came early this year….NaturallyCurly sent me a Holiday Gift ‘Cocktail’, and it arrived today!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
Among the free goodies are Kinky-Curly Knot Today (a product that I’ve been dying to try), Oyin Frank Juice (one of Natakue‘s favs from back in the day), and Blended Beauty’s Styling Butter. Needless to say, I’m ecstatic! I’ll be trying and reviewing Kinky-Curly this weekend πŸ˜€
For those of you that have used it, what do you think?! How do you use it? I plan to try it in conjunction with my DevaOne C, as a leave-in styler.
Here are the reviews from naturallycurly.com:

I have high hopes! I’ll keep you ladies posted πŸ˜€

i use the curling custard on my hair which i love, it basically holds my natural curls in place. and i use the knot today on my daughter & son's hair (both very thick & hers long) and it really does soften & detangle their hair.

Wow how did you get this Holiday pack for free?

  • Bailee says:

KCKT is the best product ever! It helped my confused texture find a happy middle ground. It also goes together great with miss jessies buttercreme which makes the scalp all tingling and alive feeling

I’m glad they sent this product to you. Next you need to try it out with the Kinky Curling Custard. I’d love to see the results in your hair. I’ve been using this product for over a year. It’s one of my staples. However, I mostly use it in conjunction with KCCC. It does have great clumping ability of it’s own but for my fine frizzy hair I need add another product on top for hold. IMO KCKT has a lighter consistency than Deva One condition. So I’m not sure what order you will want to apply them both for styling. Look forward to your review!!! I love this blog girlie. πŸ™‚

I bought the product over a month ago – I decided to go back natural after 16 years of relaxing two months ago. I LOVE the product. I’ve always been a “conditioner” type of girl.

I don’t like spending time in the salon but I can leave a conditioner in my hair and go about my business. Knot Today made my curls so easy to touch.

I love KCKT the way I use it is I put a little on in the shower and then detangle and then a light rinse and then my hair has tons of slip and then put a little more on as a leave in

  • Butterfly73 says:

I love the Knot Today by its self as a leave in…it curls my hair right up. It moisturizes my hair, it gives it sheen and it smells good.
    I just love it.

  • Nika says:

OMG! I love the knot today. It provides the greatest slip every and combines well with any product. I notice though that when my hair dries it is not as soft as with other moisturizers. I think it depends on the hair texture as to how moisturized the hair will be afterwards but I do love the product. And it does make a difference if you use this with the custard versus other products.

  • Suburbanbushbabe says:

KCKT has excellent clumping properties and you can use a little butter under it. It enhances the effect. KT and Abba Pure Gentle are almost interchangable except Abba has protein in it. The KT used with KCCC makes for silky, silky hair for a few days.

  • Natakue says:

hey nikki! i use knot today with kccc all the time. it really stops the crunchiness usually associated with kccc in its tracks. it smells like artificial cherry, but is not overwhelming. i can’t say how it works with other products because i always use it the same way. for me it seemed like such a perfect combo that i never thought to split it up…hmm, something to try next time… =)

This has been a life saver for detangling. I have thick 3b/4a APL hair and struggled to get knots and tangles out before Knot Today. I saturate my hair with water put a few nickle size amounts throughout my hair and my shower comb glides right through. I also use it as a boost with other conditioners for extra slip.

I also love this product as a light leave in. It layers very well with heavier products and also dries just fine on its own. I’m sure you’ll love it with your twist and curl.

I’m so excited! I plan to henna tomorrow night, DT on Sunday and TnC Sunday night. I think I’ll use KCKT as the base, and apply a little Deva One on top? Not sure yet…

    How is the moisture level?

dluvylox, thank you for sharing!!! I can’t wait to see what it does on my head πŸ˜€

    maria, you know I will!

I’ve been dying to try this product for months now. I’m too cheap to pay the $25 LOL I might just go ahead and order it and if I don’t like it just swap it for something else. I hope you like it! Please post pictures!

I am so happy that you’re going to give it a review. I’m a newbie, just BC’d on 12/5, but it’s a HG product for me — I love what it does to my hair, leaves it moisturized and defines curls like nobody’s business. I convinced my sister to go natural too, and she is in transition now. I tried Dr. Akbari’s curly fro technique on her phytospecific relaxed hair and the Knot Today conditioner curled up that hair like a miracle!!! I have a product review of my own on my fotki (in the journal section): http://public.fotki.com/dluvlylox

You (and anyone else curious) are cordially invited to take a look.
