Hola Chicas!
As you know, I’m here in D.C. (with my sis and husband) enjoying the lively atmosphere. We attended the free concert yesterday, which turned out to be a (much needed) trial run for tomorrow. Needless to say, I gotta step up my game!
For some reason, I missed the memo that Obama was going to be in attendance. So imagine my surprise when he took the stage!!! The Mall was packed with people of all ages and backgrounds, and at times, I was unable to move my arms, or even breathe for that matter. The athletic folk managed to get good seats atop Port-o-Potties and dumpsters… yes Port-o- Potties. Although I too desired visibility, falling into a public potty is one of my worst nightmares.
The crowd was crazy, and from what I hear it was only a quarter of the people they’re expecting on Tuesday. Which is why our plans have changed, lol, we now plan to attend the Parade, but watch the Inaguration from a near-by bar or pub. If it took an hour and a half to file out of the Mall yesterday (couple 100,000 people), I don’t even want to know how crazy things are going to get tomorrow.

Yeah, so, at some point a woman passed out, and the officials thought it was a good idea to drive a friggin’ tractor through the crowd. Ridiculous. Lots of pushing, shoving, hollering, and cursing.
I also attended the concert – believe it or not through the excitement and the cold and keeping an eye on my sister, niece and step-daughter I was checking for curly-heads too – wish I would have spotted you :o)
Nikki you make me feel like I’m there. What a Day!!!!
