Hola Chicas!
Several of you have asked me if I’ve replaced my Afrikan Republic Shea Butter with SheaMoisture Shea Butter leave-in. Others have asked what the SheaM looks like and where to purchase it.
To clear up the confusion:
I use SheaMoisture as a leave-in along with DevaCare One Condition, on soaking wet hair, prior to twisting. I still use African Republic 100% Pure Shea Butter to seal my wet ends, and re-moisturize dry ends. Here’s an image of the SheaM bottle:I’ve purchased SheaM from www.sistasplace.biz (they’re currently out of stock), my local Beauty Supply Store (I’ve found it at 2 stores in my area…shop around), and from www.beautyofnewyork.com. Your cheapest bet will be from the local BSS. I pay about 8 bucks after taxes.

- Ingredients: Shea Butter, Deionized Water, Herbal Complex, Panthenol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Cocoa Butter, Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E.
I hope this clears some things up…bottom line is that I use both!
Later Gators,
Nik
In the triangle area of NC you can find this product at Beauty World.
Ahh! Thanks for the clarification. This whole time I thought it was actual shea BUTTER from SheaM that u were using lol. I found the SheaM at my local BSS..I think I’m going to invest in some. Thanks a lot.

i love your blog!! i posted about it on my blog so check it out! keep up the good work you are very inspiring 🙂
i didnt realize this was so affordaable and the ingredients are great…plus i hate to admit i still creep into my bss lol…i hope i can find it…
I love SheaMoisture, I wish I would have tried it sooner. It’s great on 4b hair as well. I’ve used it alone on wet and dry hair for twists and I had the best twistout. Ladies if your hair likes shea butter you won’t be disappointed.
Hey Nik,
You and I both live in the Triangle. Can you tell me which BSS you purchase from? I went on a hunt Thursday and couldn’t find it…….. Thanks
