-How long have you been natural?
I have been natural for four years and four months. I, like most, was going bald with my relaxed hair. Relaxing my own hair and flat ironing every day. My senior year of high school I decided I wanted curls. My hair was always puffy anyway and I took it as a sign that I should go natural.
-What is your regimen?
-What is your regimen?
I like to keep my regimen very simple and stay away from jumping on bandwagons. I stick to what works for me.
On wash days I will shampoo (Garnier) once, only applying the shampoo to my scalp, following up with a conditioner wash (any Cheapie Suave) and detangling session. I then apply a deep conditioner (Pantene R&N). Next, I apply a moisturizer (Root Stimulator) and seal with olive oil. Sometimes, I will just leave the conditioner in as a moisturizer/ leave-in. To maintain wash N go’s in between wash days, I oil rinse. Oil rinsing is exactly as it sounds, apply ample amounts of oil then rinse under warm water. This gives you shine and softness.
Usually, I wear two strand twists and Wash N Gos. But I love trying and inventing new styles to prove just how versatile natural hair is.

-What is the one thing you’d tell a newbie to help her on her journey?
Research and believe in what you are doing. You are going against the norm and you need to be able to stand tall in your decision. BE PATIENT and know you are beautiful just the way God made you.
-How do you maintain length?
Low manipulation. I detangle about once or twice a month and I’m always gentle with my hair. Also I protect my ends and keep them moisturized.
-How do you preserve your curls at night?
Just a satin scarf and sleep on a satin pillow. In the morning, I spritz with water and a little moisturizer.
