Valentine’s Day Giveaway!

By January 27th, 20215 Comments

The other day, I received an email from Tiffany, a CurlyNikki.com subscriber. She has a wonderful idea for a Valentine’s Day Giveaway, check it out:

Hey Ms. Nikki,

I would love to thank you first on your advice on the clear henna I might give it a whirl & the website you directed me to will stay bookmarked.

I have been reading on several sites and you-tube channels and come across a few posts about natural beauties and their wedding days. Your story stuck out to me because it was similar to mine. My husband is the one who encouraged me to go natural about a week and a half before our big day, and we wed with me having about a half an inch of curly sprouts!
The reason I would love to see a wedding post on your site is because you are so open to giving other women ( and a few men!) a platform to share what worked for them on their journey. I love hearing about the products, treatments and techniques, but most of all, I like that the women share their frustrations and problems and how they got through it. I have days where I want to either slap on some perm or go to the kitchen scissors and start over. This site has helped me get through those days.

So Ms. Nikki, can you please consider a post for those natural beauties out there that are getting close to their big day looking for ideas for natural styles? I know one natural beauty

Fleurzty of textureplayground.com has a post about her engagement photos and they are beautiful but I haven’t really come across more. So again please, please please, please and thank you!

P.S. I’ve included a pic of my day at the Oakland courthouse of me, my husband, my best friend & my TWA complete with IC Fantasia. And yes I am tatted up, hood chicks can be natural beauties too!

Hey Ladies! I'm so excited to see what comes in, Fleurzty, I'm glad to hear that you have a bride category, I think a lot of women choose to go straight or even consider going back to chemicals because of a lack of knowledge of their options for special occasion styles.

As far as my PS goes I figured I would bust myself out before someone else did 🙂 I'm from the place Dave Chapelle talks about, gun store, liquor store, gun store, except he forgot one… beauty supply! Most women don't even wear permed hairstyles anymore, just weaves & wigs and I think it’s beautiful (no, it’s not a typo!), an art form, it’s just not for me.

    Good luck ladies!

Tiffany, we’re definitely thinking along the same line. I actually interviewed a beautiful bride recently and shared her story that I shared on the blog. She actually inspired me to start a Natural Bride category on the blog. I am looking for more women who can share their experiences with remaining natural for the big day, so I would love to see the entries for this contest. Best of luck ladies with your submissions!

    Fleurzty.
