TWA Styling with Erica

Hey Nikki,

Your twa styling post is just in time! I have been growing out my short twa for about 6 months now and it is challenging, to say the least, to find cute styles at this length.

Here are some pics to show styles that I’ve done at different lengths. I’m looking forward to seeing more twa ideas! Thanks.

Photo 1: At about 2 months, a side part with a headband.

Photo 2: At about 2-3 months, finger coils. Cute but this style took longer than I like to spend on my hair.

Photos 3-4: One of my staple styles, the frohawk. I pull the sides back with bobby pins, combs, or tiny claw clips. Early on I parted each side into two sections, twisted, and pinned back. Now I do just one large section on each side, twist, and pin back. These photos range from about 4 and a half to 6 months of growth. The photo in the pink dress is the most recent, at my current length. I was actually trying to decide if I liked that dress enough to not return it, lol, but it’s a good pic of my hair from the front too.

Photo 5: At about 5 months, two-strand twists. These came out okay, but I don’t like how long it takes to do twists! I only did them once.

Photos 6: A new staple, the side fro. I take a section of hair on one side, twist, and pin it up, and fluff out the other side of my fro. This is about 6 months of growth.
