RIP MJ...1958-2009

Aunty was the first to phone me with the news. Tragic.

In my heart of hearts, I was thinking, ‘no way is he dead!’ I thought Mike would out live all of us. I agree with Will.I.Am…the world just may stop spinning!

Deep down, I still don’t want to believe it. I’m holding out hope until after the BET awards…praying he’ll make a surprise entrance.

R.I.P. MJ! We love you!!!!!

THis was and still is the absolute saddest news. I always wanted to see him and remeber saying to hubby, if ever he plays again, whatever it takes or costs we will see him – then low and behold he announced his dates for the O2 arena in London, and miraculously, we only managed to get tickets, we were offered silly amounts of money off people to buy them off us – but we wouldnt have even considered not going! I said to Ant, its too good to be true – and i thought it would get cancelled or something, perhaps he might be poorly, just thought something would happen to stop us seeing one of the most amazing performers/artists EVER – never though did i expect it to be his untimely tragic death.
My husband called me at 6.30am on my day off and told me news, and i felt numb, sick and overwhelmed with sadness – it felt like loosing someone i knew and cared so much for, weird.
I still cannot believe he has gone, its not sunken in – think most of you feel the same – the only thing i hope is that he is now somewhere away from negativity and cruel words and stories – he was never left to be . .someone was always trying to use his name and fame and make money out of him or bring him down, a lot of those stories i think really did obviously take their toll, his physically being and health appeared to be effected and no doubt his mental state – as in he must have felt so much pressure and stress at times, in my opinion all unfair, he just loved people, children, animals, just beings, any age, any race – and he suffered for that.
So sad and really do hope he is 'Resting in Peace' somewhere truely amazing looking down watching his children grow up and his legend live on.
    WE LOVE YOU MJ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've only cried at the loss of 2 and only 2 celebrities… #1 was Biggie… and #2 was Michael Jackson. I don't think I will ever get over his passing… that man had such a profound effect on our childhood (those of us who lived thru the 80s era). The music, the dance moves, the fashion… I only pray that his soul is truly at peace. On the flip side I would love for the media to stop reminding us of his recent troubles and just focus on the man and the musical genius that he was!!!
And finally… I would love to tell that "doctor" of his a thing or two about performing CPR on a mattress… I would love to know what medical school taught him that nonsense…
    But I digress…
Rest in peace Michael Jackson… your music and good work will forever remain embedded in our hearts, minds and souls! God Bless!

Thanks Nic for the tribute. I feel like a lost a family member. May he be remembered for all he contributed and not his short comings. There will never be another superstar like Michael. I truly believe it happens only once in a lifetime.

I noticed something, the following people all died on the 25th, MJ,James Brown,Aaliah,Left eye. I would like to know why some of the news stations, want to bring up negative stuff about MJ when the man just died, why not focus on the positive that he has done, and not about his debt, arrests etc. I just dont get why people focus on the negative of people.. He w/o sin please cast the first stone.

I think it's so bad beacuse for his and our generation, it's like we are moving on out of the way for the next ones. Like our childhood is gone. You hear about celebrities dying all of the time and it's sad but none of them have affected me like this one. wow….

Truly a sad, sad day… First, Farrah Fawcett, now Michael. I was at my part-time job when I heard the news and almost cried in front of my customers when I heard, but I held it together until I got home. I pray for strength for his family and close friends, and I also pray that the media is respectful. R.I.P., Michael!! Loved and missed.

its so shocking, he was going to perform at the 02 in just a few days. I'm so sad, he was the most amazing perfomer ever. He'll never be forgotten.

  • Mrs. R says:

He will always be the King. Always. Pure musical genius who will be missed around the world.

He was such a tortured soul. I think he was only happy when he performed. To me – his obsession with surgery showed such deep self loathing. His odd choices and the need to collect / own things was by some seen as child like – I think he was always trying to fill a hole, I dont think he liked himself much.

His musical brilliance was unmatched in his generation and his legacy as a performer is secure.

    But his

joe Messed m.j. up I really hope he knows that.
I hope he knows how scared he was of him as a child. I felt so sad watching him talk about that on the news last night. I hope joe has to pay what he owes.

i'm so not over this… i don't think i ever will be over this. my sister put it best: i feel like my childhood just ended. you know, that "i can do anything, i can be just like michael with my sparkly white glove and the socks with the highwaters" feeling. i know he's in a much better place though, and that's what's most important. and he's left us with his legacy of AMAZING music (i was whistling "wanna be starting something" all the way to the subway today, and it just made me feel that much better). RIP MJ…
