CN: Were you a long term or short term transitioner, and why?
I was a short term transitioner because I really didn’t transition. I had not gotten a perm in about three months because I was trying to grow it out.

CN:When did you BC? What was your initial reaction to your natural hair?
I BC’ed August 10, 2007. I immediately loved my hair. I felt so fresh and free.

CN: What was your transition routine?
I didn’t really have a routine. I was getting my hair blow dryed straight at the Dominican Salon until I decided to cut it off.

CN: What was your staple hair style during the transition?
A low bun on the side.

CN: Why did you choose to go natural?
I was tired of not being able to go swimming when I wanted to and so, so tired of sitting under the dryer. My hair has always been strong and I didn’t have problems with perms breaking my hair off. I guess I just grew out of the perm phase. I had not done any research into natural hair before I BC’ed. . I became tired of the two textures of hair, went into a barber shop, got it all cut off and donated my hair to Locs of Love. I only wish I had done it sooner. When I was pregnant with my son back in 2001/2002 and was not perming my hair, I wish I had found sites such as yours! I can only imagine what my hair would look like right now and how long it would be.
