Wes on Drugstore Treasures

By January 27th, 20216 Comments

It’s that time again…the one and only Wes of Honeybrownsugar has taken the reigns of To check out my Drugstore treasures, head over to her site next!

If I Could Only Shop at the Drugstore, I would HAVE to get….

1. Infusium 23 Leave-in Treatment: One of the best leave-ins of all time, my mom used to use this on my hair as a youngster. Nowadays, one part Infusium and about 3 parts water mixed in a spray bottle will leave your hair shiny, bouncy and FULL of body.

2. Aussie Moist Conditioner: LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff as a leave-in styling cream… Can’t get enough!

3. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration: I don’t like using this as a leave-in, but it is one of my favorites to use as a rinse-out (actually, any of the Herbal Essence conditioners are great rinse aways)

4. Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo: I use this about once a month to clarify. It’s a no-frills, simple shampoo.

5. Elasta QP DPR-11 Conditioner: Extremely moisturizing, this is my “go to” conditioner for deep treatments (especially after clarifying).

What are some of your favorite drugstore brands?

  • AAW says:

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask – I live in perhaps the #1 Humid climate in America. It helps

  • KDW4JC says:

Love Aubrey Organics conditioners … lots of moisture & slip! Yes to Carrots & Yes to Cucumbers conditioners are favorites, too. I haven’t used Aussie products since Aussie 3-Minute Miracle was a favorite as a teen.

  • D Alexandra says:

I've never found Elasta QP in the drugstores. Maybe Duane Reade doesn't carry it.

I love Suave Humectant Conditioner &nd Suave Naturals Coconut Conditioner. Garnier Fructics molding clay (I think that's what it's has a yellow top &nd it's in a small jar)is great too. It holds ur hair in place but doesn't make it feel hard and stiff like gel can.

  • KayC, The Quiet Storm says:

Haven't tried Infusium since my permie days, didn't like it then.

Agree with Aussie Moist, I tried that after your review on your blog and it is a keeper. I think I may be able to do a combing conditioner with this. My hair loves it! I hear they make a large size with a pump top.

The HH was a no go as a leave-in. It left my hair feeling coated.

    Haven't tried the others.

I completely agree with number 2. Aussie Moist is a great leave-in!
