I find that when I sleep my hair style get ruined. I've tried pinappling and even mini pinappling but to no avail. If Im lucky I can get 2 days out of my hair, the 2 being a c+ to the A+++++ that was the day before. Any other tips, tricks, and suggestions on how to make it last?

PLEASE DONT SAY SLEEPING STANDING UP!

Hi Nikki, I wore a twist n curl/twist out for a month and the back of my hair was constantly brushing up against my clothing. Your hair is actually longer than mine so how do you keep this from happening? I experienced quite a bit of breakage, so now I'm in protective styles.
    Thank You!!

I'm very interested in the post about drying hair faster. I have come to the conclusion that on weekdays all I can do is wash my hair and pull it back into a bun, instead of the TnC I would like to do. Every time I try, my hair is still SOPPING wet, and just ends up a hot mess when I take out the curlers! Please help!!!!!!

    Hey Nikki,

Frizzy ends and very little sheen. Moisturizing without ruining the curl pattern. I second the gals who have questions about these two hair challenges. I use devacurl conditioner and set it free to style, DT each week, do Henna/Amla treatments, and try to seal with shea until I restyle. My ends don't curl so I roll them up (bantu-knots, curlformers, flexi rods) but my Day 2 hair is ALWAYS frizzy round the edges. Help! There's no bunning for me yet because of length but I have tried salvaging my hair with a french roll… and lots of pins.

    Any ideas….

Whenever I style my hair…I love the way it looks when its WET…but as soon as it dries…it shrinks and looks like a dry, bushy mess. What product(s) can I use to maintain the looseness of my curls and not draw up tight? PLZ HELP A SISTA OUT!

    Thanks
    U are such a blessing…

My hair is about 5 inches long which kinda kicks me out of the TWA stage. I'm not quite in the BAA stage. I only seem to find hairstyles for TWA's and BAA's. Do you have any style suggestions for someone who is in between?

    Hey Nik-

Ummm Yeah, how do you sleep with all those curlers in your hair??!!! I did a Twist N Curl once, and while I favored the results, the curlers gave me a headache in the morning!! Please dish how you keep your head from hurting but your curls ever-so-tight!

    Hello Nikki,

Whenever I do a Twist-n-Curl, the twists look great, but they look so dry. I am using the exact same products you use (Pantene R & N for the deep treatment, Devacare One & Jessicurl WDT to set the twists.) Is there something else I am missing to make it look shiny (like yours! πŸ™‚

When I comb through my wet hair it is shoulder length but, when it dries, it shrinks to about ear lobe length. What can I do/use to prevent some shrinkage?

When I do a TnC it never dries completely overnight. I usually start at 7pm and when I wake up my roots are not dry, is there something I can do to speed up the drying process without sitting under a dryer?

    Hi there,

I have in between hair…right now it's falling right above my collar bone.
1 -I love your twist and curl style and I have attempted it several times following your instructions but mine always comes out frizzy. Is my hair to short for the style or am I just not doing it right? Any suggestions?
2 -Also Nikki have you personally tried the Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Knot Today leave in condish? If so what do you think about it?

    Thanks Michelle

    Hello Nikki
Everytime i do my twists, the bottom is always so loose. How do i get the roots to be a bit firm cos they seem to always unravel.i use a bit of gel though.

I have coarse curly hair and when I style it,it looks nice when it is wet. But once I let it air dry it just looks overly dry, dull, and frizzy. How do I stop my hair from looking like that when I style it?

  • Unknown says:

Could you show me what your twisting pattern looks like? You usually just say how many twists you have, but I'm never sure how or where to actually twist πŸ™
