Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Myristyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Decyl Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Hexyl Cinnamal, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) Extract, Fucus Vesiculosus (Bladderwack) Extract, Methyl-2-Octynoate
My Experience:
Rinse-out/Detangler: A no go for me. It’s wayyyyy too thick and sort of reminds me of Elmer’s Glue. The consistency made it hard to get out of the bottle–I HATE that when I’m in a rush. It goes on rough, and after applying a quarter sized amount, I immediately rinsed it out and loaded up with my trusty Herbal Essence TT to detangle.
Deep Conditioner: Pretty good for the price! I saturated my strands and added a bit of Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose for good measure. My hair was soft, supple, and full of moisture upon rinsing.
Styling: I used it to set my Twist-n-Curl. Only I (and probably you gals, in person) can tell the minor differences in the results I yield from product experiments– the pictures don’t show the whole story.
Although my hair looks good today (and probably looks like the rest of my pics), it reminds me of 3rd day hair with Garnier or DevaCare. It’s big (thanks to the henna treatment), but definitely fuzzy and undefined in places (see pic 2 and pic3). I’m betting that I’ll only get another day out of this set before I have to pull it up into a bun or pony. Besides the lack of definition, my hair is moisturized, soft, and fluffy…just like I like it! It left behind zero residue. I also liked the fragrance– very light and sweet, but it dissipates once dry.
Bottom Line: Interesting conditioner. The ingredients aren’t the best, but it is cone and protein free! I think I’ll keep this in my arsenal for three reasons (1) it’s cheap, (2) it’s easily accessible, and (3) it’s very moisturizing. If there’s a Sally’s near you, pick it up, try it out, and report back! If you hate it, you can always get your money back!
I used the conditioning balm and it was great but the Ultra Conditioning Balm is like a miracle worker. After washing my hair I apply the balm and comb and twist into a few sections. I leave it in for awhile, 10 to 30 minutes and then rinse section by section keeping the twists. I let it dry some before I go section to section and apply a mix of oil and leave-in then re-twist. After it has dried and I take the twists out it is amazing the difference it makes to my hair. I have tried so many products, expensive to VO5 and the Matrix Biolage Ultra Conditioning Balm works AMAZING!

You have beautiful hair! Please be careful with the use of parabens. Parabens have been said to mimic estrogen which is not good.

^^Agreed. It still looks great!
girl please! you and your hair are beautiful no matter what you do. rock it hon!
You're hair looks soft and fluffy but there is no shine and little definition. You still look cute, girl!
I can tell the difference. There isn't much luster and shine and your curls/twists resemble waves. Still pretty, though!
I detest that conditioner. It made my hair feel like straw after a month. Never again. It looks like it likes you though, but if you think the other conditioners are better, stick to what you know.
I love your hair no matter what you put in it!!!! Stunning and very shiny.
Thanks ladies! Olivia, check out my vids (henna and tnc), I'm pretty sure both of those have my wet, pre-style texture. My dry texture is pretty much like the small s waves you see in the middle of picture 2.
It's always pretty Nik! I'm actually a fan of the conditioning balm. It has brought my hair back from the dead.
Nikki you're almost at 1,000 followers, you just need one more person! Congrats!
Any way, what curl pattern is your hair without it being styled? Picture please. Also, I see what you mean about that conditioner. Stick to your old and trusty way, they never fail.

Yeah, I can see it looks fairly old… Not how it usually looks.
