Check out this article on NYTimes.com. Big thanks to Ashley for the heads up!

Love the article! The various ages in the women that were interviewed was genius.

Great article. Between the Tyra show with the "good and bad hair", Oprah showing her real hair, and Chris Rock coming out with his documentary seems like people are talking more and more about this in the media.

loved that little old lady. i've got my mum growing her hair out naturally too. it won't be quite the afro but she is getting tons of compliments on the curls from her church group. it is so nice for women to recapture their natural hair at whatever age.

I love the older lady with the blond fro. That will be me in about 40 years, proudly rocking my natural hair!

Very interesting feature. I notice how some of the women associated long, straight hair with being glamorous and beautiful. They described how they could pin it up and do different styles.

I think some black women don't realize you CAN do different styles with natural hair. But I like how the majority of the women embraced themselves how they are naturally.

I loved that they profiled so many naturals, interesting that the 2 women who had weaves were also natural underneath…
