Product Description: We’ve worked with an upscale boutique to bring you this salon-quality conditioner that will rejuvenate your hair with its refreshing tingle. A blend of certified organic botanicals including peppermint and tea tree work together to moisturize and clarify your hair while alleviating dry scalp. –(this is the description for both their poo and conditioner)
Ingredients: water, tea tree, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, nettle oil, thyme oil, birch leaf oil, chamomile oil, clary, coltsfoot leaf, yarrow oil, mallow, horsetail oil, soybean protein, cetyl alcohol, vitamin e, trace minerals, citric acid, sodium hydroxymethylgycinate, grape seed
My Experience: Who is responsible for this atrocity?! Seriously, one of you should have emailed me and told me that it would be in my best interest to try this conditioner IMMEDIATELY. I’ve heard good reviews, and received gentle nudges from several of you (including my friend Terron), but dang, I had no idea it was like this!!!! This ish right here…this right here….!!!!
I bought a bottle last week, and finally popped the top tonight. I was dreading my detangling session–it had been 6 days, and my hair was dry, frizzy, and incredibly tangled. I hopped in the shower and applied it generously from root to tip. I’m not a fan of minty smelling products, but I enjoyed the tingling sesation on my scalp. As soon as I applied it, I swear, my tangles melted away. It is super, SUPER slippery!!! I’m guessing it’s the oils? Whatever it is, it’ s just as effective as Herbal Essence with fewer, and more natural ingredients. For all of you cruelty free, organic chicas, this conditioner is a must try! It has a bit of protein in it (toward the bottom of the list), so I won’t be leaving it in, but it’ll probably become one of my staple co-wash conditioners. Oh, and I’m not sure if it was a fluke or not, but I had much less shedding than usual…much less 🙂
Bottom Line: Excellent slip, moderate moisture, fresh tingly sesation, cruelty free, high quality ingredients…4 bucks. If you’re not on it yet, it should definitely be at the top of your PJ wish list.
I bought this yesterday–it's AMAZING!! Great slip and smells yummy. My hair felt like I had DC'ed it! I used it as a leave-in too.
PS, you and your Katt Williams! Remember, the last time I was at your parents place we were all watching Katt. Your family is funny! He was on TV last night and I tried watching, but with all the "bleeps" the humor was lost. Oh well. See you when I get my next shout out! 😉
Peace & Blessings.
My own sister spelled my name wrong in the article! It's all love, though. Glad you finally tried it. I told you, little kids touch my hair and comment on the softness. I also use the shower gel, and wash my hair with it too.
(PS, there is some confusion in these comments I think. You cannot buy Trader Joe products at Whole Foods.)
I just bought some when I went out of town (unfortunately we don't have a Trader Joe's in my city) so I can't wait to use it.
Im going to Whole Foods tomorrow so I'll see if its there 🙂
Im in whack *** Winston Salem so I guess I'm out of luck. lol I checked out the sites locations but thanks sis…Giovanni it is I guess 🙁
hello! i read this last night, and went straight to Trader Joes this morning! i just cowashed my hair with it, and it felt GREAT! i really do like my HE totally twisted condish, so we will have to see which one my hair likes better! so far, it looks like its gonna be a close one! lol
I have been looking for something with more natural ingredients to replace my Herbal Essences, so I really, REALLY want to try this. The only problem? The nearest Trader Joe's is 50 miles away, as is the nearest Whole Foods. I did find it on Amazon, but a 16oz. bottle costs a whopping $10.99. I wonder what's up with the price difference?
For those ladies who'd like to try it despite the price difference, you can find it on Amazon here: http://tinyurl.com/tjttc
@Afrikan Latina: where in NC do u live? I live in chapel hill, and there is a Trader Joe's here (and i WILL be stopping by there tomorrow!) u should go to their website and find a store near u!
This is one is a must try. I like it better than the Nourish Spa – less proteins maybe and my hair is protein sensitive.
LOL! Big ups to Katt Williams!
Yeah I've had a love affair with this conditioner for a while. It's good stuff. When I mixed with my shea frosting it was even better! I couldn't even call it detangling anymore, it felt so good. Lol.
You are hilarious! Thanks for the review, I'll pick some up next week.
Thanks ladies! Sorry for enabling the PJ 🙂
And yes, mallow is the detangling ingredient! I love natural conditioners with this agent (marsh mallow)–I didn't even see it in the list, but I do now! Thanks!!!
Trader Joe's Nourish Spa used to be my staple co-wash conditioner (years ago), but it stopped working for me. I wonder how I'd like it if I revisited…
Oh, and I LOVE Katt too 🙂
nik
nikki you are hilarious!I just bought another bottle of aogpb conditioner!I would really like to try this since its organic!
lol you are to funny…this ish right here, I love Katt Williams. Anyway you just incited the PJ in me now I'm curious to see how it works for me…thanks Nikki 🙂
To everyone far from a Trader Joe's, I'm pretty sure the Giovanni tea tree conditioner has similar ingredients for a higher price tag. It's more widely available though.
Pooey! I left it on the shelf when I was at TJ in Virginia Beach two weeks ago. No way I'll be close to one for a 6+ months. It will be on the list for next trip home.
OMG I felt the EXACT same way when I tried the giovanni tea tree triple threat condish! like seriously! I had to go back and apologize to the bottle for underestimating it lol. I wrote an apology in my challenge for wednesday or thursday…forreal it was that serious. And I felt the same way about the shedding – go figure. But TJ is MUCH less expensive. I paid 7 for both the shampoo and conditioner in a gift pack but that was a special price…woo hoo go tea tree!
I am going to have to try this out when I'm out of my HE… I've been swearing by the Totally Twisted conditioner for my wash n gos but it would be nice to use something that does the same thing with better ingredients. Thanks for the review! 🙂
I've used both the Tea Tree and the Nourish Spa and they are great! Actually, I added my water and garlic mix to the Tea Tree to help with my shedding and it was awesome! I might have try it as a conditioner only method…SisterBoyd
I love this conditioner. The last bottle I had I added olive oil, honey and sweet almond oil and used as a deep conditioner as well.
The Nourish spa is awesome too! I need to try the TTT. I need to pick up some 2buckchuck while there…
Awww shucks I'm in TX and there's no Trader Joe's here. I saw someone mentioned Whole Foods and the nearest one of those is 26 miles away!! 🙁
So I can find this at whole Foods? I dont have a Trader Joes close to me here in NC.
By the way, it's the MALLOW in it that makes it slippery.
OH MY GOD. I can finally go back to using organic products!!! I've found a condish with slip to use as a Co-Wash and I am SO happy.
Okay, off to TJ's tomorrow to pick up a bottle. Great review, can't wait to try. Thanks.
BlondeByDesire
Where do I find this for $4? Amazon sells it for $10!
You should try the TJ Spa Nourish condish!!! ;oP
I was just in Whole Foods debating over this conditioner…I wasn't sure so I went with the 50:50 instead…darn!
I'm soooooo glad you finally tried my staple condish! It lathers up like shampoo and that helps so much with detangling. I will never part with my TJTTT!!!! My hair tolerates it well as a leave-in. I use a dime size amount (my hair isn't that long). I'm not sure what I would do without this stuff.
