What is a Vata, and what is a Dosha? Excuse the ignorance i'm new to natural hair care.
I received the Afroveda cocolatte mask and the curl define yesterday. For some reason I am not a fan of the smell of the cocolatte mask; it almost stinks too me; but my daughter loves it:) Question, should I use both of these products fora twist out? Cocolatte to moisturize and curl define for definition and hold?
Just got my stuff, i love the curl define..will be ordering more stuff in the future
I'm a Vata too..my next set of products are definitely coming from them, I like their approach and naturals seem to love them π
Nikki, on a wet hair T-N-C, try just a *tad* of the curly define (a little goes a LONG way, if you see the white product buildup in the hair when wet, you prolly used too much) and add a little pur gelly on top. then twist and air dry overnight. you can use the shea amla buttercreme for moisturizing ends during the week…
I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!!!!!! These are pretty much my staples!
I suggest the CocoLatte Moisture Mask for the next time you order. The SheaAmla Buttercream is great for twistouts and braidouts.
Has anyone tried David Babai for Wildaid's Fiber Pudding. I bought some yesterday and used it on dry twists last PM. It seems to be pretty good.
to me all the butters are good quality and seem about the same consistency/texture. i LOVE the chocolate smelling one. i LIKE the ginger almond one but i dont like the smell of the shea amla at all. it's scented with frankincense and myrrh which i guess isn't my favorite scent.
I'm interested in trying the whipped shea amla.. that may be my next purchase π
LOL, I've been on this blog since yesterday afternoon and I already have a lists of products that I'm about to order….Help Me!!
Hi Nikki, I'm a Vatta too! I love these products. Even the ones that are not in my dosha. For your braid n curl, I suggest using totally twisted ginger almond butter with a little pur whipped gelly on top. The tt already has a slight hold, putting the gelly on top gives it an extra umph. I only to braid-outs with these two products now. But of course, my favorite AV butter is the Shea- Amla. Its super moisturizing, and I love the smell. Can't wait for your reviews!

I love all her butters. I've used the Shea Amla, Ginger Almond Butter, Hempseed Butter. I LOVE the totally twisted ginger almond butter and the hempseed butter the best
Nikki, I co-washed my hair this morning and applied some Afroveda Totally Twisted Almond Butter on my ponytail. My hair is almost dry now and my ponytail is soft, moisturized and I don't have to worry about gels messing up my ends. The Totally Twisted is very similar to the Shea Amla. The Hemp Seed butter is very nice, but a bit too greasy on my hair so I use it sparingly.
I ordered from AfroVeda this past fall. The Shea-Amla butter is my favorite. I'd like to try all her products. I ordered the Pitta line, since that's my dosha. Other than the shea-amla, I haven't tried the products yet, but I think I'm going to be happy with them.
I ordered some items from the Black Friday sale, as well! I can't wait to try them…
I'm so jealous! I just ordered some stuff in the Black Friday sale, so who knows when mine will arrive. I wanted to add a whipped gelly to my order, but when I emailed Mala to add it to my order (already checked out), she never responded to my email. I was pretty surprised, because I've heard nothing but good things about her customer service…
I've been an Afroveda Girl since this summer and I am HOOKED. She has great prices, consistently good customer service (very important to me) and her products are just heavenly. I am in love with all her butters.
i just got my whipped jelly today and it smells so good i want to eat it. i did finger coils and so far, i love this stuff!
i hope you enjoy your products!
I looooove the whipped gelly! I'm onto my second jar! It's great for slicking back your hair!! I also use the totally twisted and shea amla. I use them both for two strand twist! Great products at a great price! Check out CoilsKinksCurls review on youtube!
Queeny, are you using it on dry hair without buildup? I'm thinking of trying a dry braid-out with it.
I'm Vata too….it's kinda scary…lol
I use the whipped gelly almost daily. I love it!!! Q
