These pictures were taken @ the Sky Bar in Houston, Black Friday while visiting my in-laws for Thanksgiving. I call it Houston @ Night!(My hubby got great hair shots, lol) My hair was a 2-day old chunky twist-out. My regimen still hasn’t really changed, I co-washed with Aussie Moist and this time used HEHH as well and twisted with Coconut Oil and GF Sleek & Shine.

This is my three day hair– results of a bantu knot out. The first two days I wore it down and decided to put it up on the third day.

This is a braidout I did! I usually do twist-outs, like, faithfully — but Nikki has inspired me to try this. Now, I cannot take credit for the cornrows on the side. My sister did those last weekend when I went home for Thanksgiving. With my hair that was left out, (I started w/dry hair, btw), I sectioned it off, starting from the back. For each section, I LIGHTLY sprayed my concoction of water/lottabody setting lotion/jojoba oil just to dampen my hair, then I smoothed Oyin Handmade’s Shine & Define through the section. Next I braid the section, then I pinned it up with a bobby pin. I did this all over and ended up w/maybe 10-12 individual braids all over. I just slept with a satin bonnet on, like I always do. In the morning, I took down the braids and separated to make it fuller, and shaped/fluffed w/my fingers. That’s it! I love it 🙂

Hi Nikki!!
I am a natural newbie and I am sooo excited. I wanted to enter my pics for the show and tell. My husband help me cut those permed ends off and now I have a new head of curls. I did some bantu knots, threw on a headband, and revealed my new look to my coworkers. I said I would wait until next year to do it, but he encouraged me to be bold over the holidays. Everyone loves it. Love your blog and keep up the good work!
Ursula, what products did you use? Your knot out has great definition.
Those are some FIERCE pics, ladies!
Ursula, how long did you transition before the BC?
Everyone is looking fabulous!! Loving the hair, ladies!
