Hola Chicas,
You know what they say… necessity breeds invention. The Modified Princess Leia Buns were born out of my need to find a low maintenance, humidity proof style for St. Thomas. It worked, and this is now a mainstay in my routine.
In a comment today from Mzbush she asks for tips on protective hair styles:
I’ve been trying to come up with ways to keep my hair safe from neglect but if you have any tips or ideas, I would love to hear them!
I think a collection of chic and versatile protective, low mani styles would be invaluable to all of us… whether you’re preggo and tired, hot and bothered, desire length, or you just simply need a break from your hair.
So ladies, send in pics and succinct instructions to nikki@curlynikki.com. I’ll post your styles on the blog for all to see. Hopefully the lazy style you never think twice about will inspire and motivate someone else!
We need all lengths, all textures, transitioning, or 100% natural! It can be your head, or your Fotki hair idol, as long as she approves of you sending in her pics!
Later Gators,
Nik
p.s. Two of my afternoon appointments were canceled and I managed to score a half dozen Cinnamon Crunch Bagels from Paneras! Life is good.
Careful, girl. I adored those Hostess lemon filled fruit pies when I was pregnant with my first. One day I was at work and spotted one in the vending machine behind 3 other items. I stalked that machine all day until later that afternoon my beloved lemon pie had worked its way up to the front. Now you won't believe this. I put my seventy-five cents in and out comes not one, but TWO lemon pies. I ate them both right there on the spot. Hence the 80 lb weight gain (from 115 to 195 lbs!!!) Between nursing the baby and execising like a maniac I lost it all, but WOW. You know what though? I was so in love with that little boy from the first moment I saw him that every pound was worth it. Babies absolutely rock!! Thanks for your wonderful blog.
Hey I love your protective style here in the pic!!! Do you have a tutorial on youtube or anything??
I remember those cravings when I was pregg…gotta love 'em…Cheeseburgers were the BEST.
Nikki, if you mention those Cinnamon Crunch Bagels from Paneira one more time…..i'm gonna have to go out and get some too. Curb the cravings!!!
