Nik,
I hope you remember me, I was one of your long term transitioners. I just wanted to let you know that after 20 months, I’m finally 100% natural! And I want to say thank you , thank you, thank you! If it wasn’t for your site, I don’t know if I would have made it this far… I did a video on Youtube about being natural after 20 months of transitioning.
You have no idea how much you and this site has helped me. The only time I see natural ladies is online and without that, I would be lost.
Thanks!
Nita
Ahhh there's hope!! Every time I tell someone that my plan is to transition for 1.5 years or more, they look at me like I'm crazy. To each her own…
OMG Rasberry, You Look Gorgeous ladybug, I know it was hard but just looking at the finish product makes me what to contiune my journey. 🙂 Talk to you later rasberry……
Congrats girlie!! I will also comment on your YouTube channel but wanted to stop by since I was here. 🙂
Your hair is natural and gorgeous honey. I commend you for sharing your insecurities. We all have them but many of us are not as brave as you to put them out there. Stay strong.
Your hair is beautiful. I do thing that rate of growth is possible. My last relaxer was april 2009 and I BC in January and right now I am a little past half her length when my hair is stretched.
WOW! so much hair for 20 months! I JUST cut off my relaxed ends yesterday. I too was a long transitioner, last relaxer August 2008, so about 23 months. Doesn't it feel good to let go of those ends? Congrats you and your hair are beautiful!
I'm not very fond of the term "grade of hair" that Anonymous before me used but I won't get into that right now. However Nita, your hair is beautiful, your growth is amazing, and your patience is admirable. Enjoy being 100% natural and keep making videos to inspire others. Congrats and much love!
yes that is a lot of new growth as she has a nice grade of hair….please be aware though her results are not typical for most women of color after 20 months..just saying.. congrats none the less…
Okay so you really transitioned for 2 yrs and 2 months and your front was 1 yr 8 months..I was listening to your video like wow thats alot of growth for less than 2 years!..lol..but I see that was just your edges and your front. Very pretty..congrats!
I orginally saw you on YouTube and instantly wanted to look at all your videos. I also went to KimmayTube because of you and learned a load of information. I just wanted to say the main reason I wanted to learn more about you was because your texture of hair and mine look almost identical. I have had long hair my entire life and realized I don't need a perm..I only perm twice a year. I also want to challenge myself to BLH ( that's Butt Length Hair) I made that one up! LOL However, I will definitely be a long-term transitioner at about the same time as you. So thank you for sharing and letting the long haired aspiring naturals know they too can keep their length during the journey. It seems when you learn something on one site, that site leads you to another gaining little bits and pieces of information that will help ( me) personally. Not that I have to do everything, but just the fact that you gave me KimmayTubes site, and to see your hair texture was so much encouragement.
Wow your story is so inspiring i just had to leave a comment. This site has been my life line as I transition from relaxed to natural and I have had my good days where i'm so glad i did, and my bad days where i'm eyeing the creamy crack in the beauty salon window like new Louboutin's and today was one of those days. I saw your picture and thought wow i can't wait until my hair grows out like that and man what i wouldn't give for that texture and then i saw ur youtube video and i was teary eyed I guess we all go through insecurities with our hair and i'm glad i'm not alone (or crazy, lol). Thanks for your bravery and your candidness, your hair looks amazing!!
Congrat! that's a lot of hair for just 20 months post relaxer. i'm at 22 months and hair (when streched) goes just pass my colar bone.
Almost 2 yrs of transitioning, now that's some dedication! Congrats on your newly naturalness. Your hair is beautiful!
Your hair is so beautiful..I just b/c in April and still have very short kinky/curls but can't wait until my hair gets your length..at least I hope it does..lol
