TerraD asks:
If you could be the spokeswoman/man for one product what would it be?
CurlyNikki Responds: Although my PJism prevents me from using one product for too long, I’d have to say… Yes to Cucumbers! It moisturizes like a champ, detangles like a dream, and smells very clean and fresh. I also like that it leaves the hair feeling airy and light– no film or flakies. It can be used as a leave-in, co-wash, or deep treatment. I haven’t used it lately (it’s not the best in humidity), but I’m sure I’ll return to it in the near future! What about you?
omg–i've made a list of allllll of these. true pj'ism going on!! BTW who is that natural chica on darcy's botanicals site? her curls are oh-so-yummy!
I would definitely be the spokeswoman for Qhemet Biologics Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee. Since using this product I can detangle on damp hair and my curls are softer and dry faster. It conditions so well I can use it alone, detangle, and apply my aloe vera/flax seed gel, and my curls are moisturized and well defined.
My loooove Elastic-i-TEA by Organic Root Stimulator. It's a great leave in conditioner with Green tea. I recommend it to anyone who asks!
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner. All day, every day. I'd even consider getting my car wrapped with one of those advertising panel things.
Nikki, I just tried Yes to Tomatoes today for my wash and go (shampoo and conditioner) and my hair is ridiculously soft! I am loving it so far, but I plan to try it once more for a final testing. You definitely were my inspiration for trying the "Yes to" products. I think I would be the spokesperson for Cantu right now because I use the shea butter leave-in and the moisturizer in my hair currently.
This is a hard one! I'd be the spokesperson for shea butter! My hair feels amazing with the mixture I use! I'm more into homemade stuff, lately. 🙂
Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter for sure! Shea Butter and aloe are main ingredients, I believe. It's pretty much free of everything curly hair doesn't like. Anywho, I love that stuff! It makes my hair so soft but I can still keep a style more than a day!
I'm a spokesperson for the tightly curly method, Herbal Essences, and shea butter!
I second the emotion on Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I used it when I first BC'd, and I still go back to it for my wash and goes now that my hair is BSL. It is very easy to use the wrong amount. As they say on the description, a little goes a long way. Too much leaves your hair flaky and takes forever to dry. Too little does not hold the curl well enough in the summer. Once I found the right amount, I was amazed at what this styling product can do. I was in Orlando in 100% humidity and rain all weekend, then I returned home to DC to show my family around the monuments in 100 degree weather. Tonight I taught a Zumba class and sweat like a pig. And can you believe my curls are still popping? No, there is no other like KCCC.
I would be the spokesperson for Jamila Henna. I mix it in a gloss with Trader Joes Nourish Spa conditioner and leave it in over night. It makes my hair smooth, thick, and strong. I have seen a dramatic decrease in breakage in my 4b hair since doing henna.
Kinky Curly Knot Today and KCC…hands down is the best humidity beater 🙂 i also use their pomade and their styling spritz… i can talk about KC all day
tee hee nikki I just googled bee mine at http://beemineproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=23
So, do you talk about the aveda whip?
I love Yes to Cucumbers!!! I tell EVERYONE about it! Love it!!
I would have to say Suave Naturals Almond & Shea. Love this product! Excellent for detangling and works really well with my other favorite product, Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose. I am quite fond of the Suave products which I never thought I would say.
tell me more of this bee mine moisturizer… what's all in it??!
I'm definitely the spokesperson for Aussie Moist conditioner!! It is the only conditioner that is reasonably priced and is heavy enough to coat my hair well for an easy detangling session. I have found that other cheapie conditioners are too thin and watery to stand up to my 4a/b hair unless I use half of the bottle!!

I would be the spokeswoman for Carols Daughter products. Most people have a love/hate relationship with her products. (Either you love them or hate them!) But they have always worked great for me. Especially the Healthy hair butter and hair balm, and I've finally learned how to use the hair milk. I'm a little bit of a pj, but I always come back to CD.

I would be the spokeswoman for Oyin Honey Hemp. It never, ever, ever disappoints me, I just love it so.
Kinky Curly Knot Today and Argan oil! Knot today has slip like none other, while Argan oil adds softness and shine.
I am the spokesperson for Bee Mine Products Deja's Hair Milk. This stuff is awesome and has done my hair some good! It is a great leave-in, detangler and moisturizer. It makes my hair so soft!
As one PJ to many others … I've been trying to simplify my routine, focus and use one or two products long enough to decide what is really working. So far, the best for moisturizing and reducing breakage are shea butter and coconut oil. I would have to be the spokesperson for those two – sorry … too much of a PJ to choose just one!
I would love to be the Spokeswoman and model for SHEAMOISTURE….OMG I love their products, I use the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Restorative Trauma Masque weekly, and the Coconut Hibiscus Curling Souffle for my styling techniques, this weekend I did a lot of swimming at the Beach and the pool, so I bought the Coconut Hibiscus Curling Shampoo used it to cleanse my hair and scalp, it was great…My hair adores their products, and it smells great. The longer my hair gets, I am noticing the different ways it reacts to products, My hair length is at below the shoulder, and it works for us…I didn't mix in any other products, and the results were wonderful.
I would definitely be the spokesperson for Yes To Cucumbers! I have just jumped on this bandwagon about a month ago and now I'm wanting to buy a wholesale box worth JUST in case they want to discontinue or change the formula. LOL I'm sooo kidding. But I love it just that much. It doesn't have glycerin in it(which is a lifesaver for me in this humidity and my hair hates it anyway), Water is the first ingredient which makes it number one for my leave in and I haven't used a comb or a denman for detangling since I've switched to this! And best of all…it doesn't have CONES! Woop woop! :o) Definitely my HG!
I would proudly be the spokeswoman and model for DARCY'S BOTANICALS. Most especially the Avocado and Honey Twisting Cream. I'm new to the natural world but I doubt there are many other products that give such amazing hold without the hard hair. Plus, Lysandra–the owner, is probably the most accommodating retailers (online and off) that I have ever encountered.
Jamila Henna!!! Best all natural hair treatment ever!!
Mine is Darcy's Botanicals Deep Conditioning mask. I immediately see curls clumping after applying. Once rinsed out, my hair is literally silky to the touch. I recommend it to anyone asking for a deep conditioner. I compare every DC I try to this. Only one has come close, and as a PJ, I've tried many.
I would say, Giovanni Direct Leave-in. It makes my hair so soft and easy to comb through. I saw the Say Yes products in Target yesterday, I was tempted to get it. Now I will go back and get it!! lol
YES TO CUCUMBERS all the way. I have been shouting it from the rooftops since last year:) If anyone is interested check out Ross Dress for Less where it is only $3.99
Winona
Has anyone tried "Yes to Tomatoes" product yet?
I could be the spokesperson for VO5 Moisture Milks as its the most consistently used product line in my arsenal, lol. I use the Strawberries and Cream as well as Passionfruit Smoothie for my cheapie co-washes! It gives my hair the most slip while making it very soft and manageable.
I could be the spokesperson for Suave Humectant. It leaves my hair so soft and makes detangling a breeze. I could also say that a bout a few other products too, but suave is only $2.
My favorite is Trader Joe's Tea Tree Conditioner. I luvvv this product! It make my hair extra soft and detangles well. It even clumps my curls allowing it to be used as a leave-in as well. I recently paired it up with Knot Today, JBCO, and Argan Oil to do an extra soft, fluffy, and shiny twist-out. All I can say is OMG!
My product would be Aussie Moist 3-Minute Miracle. I'd be lost without it!
natures gate original herbal conditioner. it doesn't have a lot of slip but it moisturizes better than any other. my curls are rediculous when i use it. if i need slip i mix a little tresemme naturals in. i like yes to cucumbers alot for moisture but it still doesn't touch my NG for curl definition.
Kinky Curly Knot Today. I'm a product junky, too but I always keep my Knot Today in rotation. Can't pass a Whole Foods or Ricky's without stocking up. LOL! 🙂
Kimmytube's leave-in conditioner recipe!! I mix mine with giovanni leave in conditioner, hemp oil (helps combat frizzes) and jojoba oil. BEST.EVVVERRR!!! Leaves it moisturized perfectly without feeling greasy (I have super thick 4a/b hair) Here is the link:

I didnt Know It Could Be Used As A Leave In Woohoo =D Defintiely Trying With a Twist and Curl Tonight =]
Kinky-Curly. whenever people stop me in the street/grocery store/mall, no matter if i have KC in my hair at the moment or not, i recommend Kinky-Curly. i always come back to it and i believe it's the best go-to for new naturals to get excited about their hair. soon as you see those curls popping, you're hooked!
SHEA BUTTER. This weekend I found out what all the raving was about. I don't know what rock I've been living under, but I tell you what…my hair looks SO GOOD. I rocked my B.A. Curly Fro this weekend…and *looks side to side, and smacks my own butt* I looked guuuuuud. That is all.
I am the spokesperson for coconut oil. I sing the praises of coconut oil in every hair conversation I have, in every post I write, to anyone with hair – relaxed or natural. I use it for and in absolutely everything, and it has done wonders for my hair – I love it, love it, love it!
I would definitely be spokesperson for Bee Mine's Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturizer. I actually already am (in a not so official way)! lol, I recommend this to every curly that approaches me asking about a really good moisturizer. I love this stuff!
ONE product?! Umm no. lol..
My first choice would be Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner. I have been using it on my daughters hair for over 1 year and looove it for everything.
Next I would go with Bee Mine Products. I can't just choose one from the line though.
I am going to pick up some of that Yes to Cucumbers.
