Hola chicas!
It’s that time again! The images below are of CN readers at their flyyest…at work, on the town, and with the fam. Showing us all that natural hair is not a fad, it’s a way of life…an extension of our beauty! Click on the images to enlarge them:
This picture is me (on the left) and my sister (right) at our little brother’s birthday party. This is my twist out after 2 weeks of wearing small, curled two strand twists. My sister has dreads. This was the first time my family saw my natural hair out of box braids (that I had been wearing for years), and they all loved it!
This picture is from my second twist/bantu knot out- – I had just taken my twists out and fluffed my hair. I’m still learning and I am having fun in the process.

This is me at home getting ready to meet a few friends for dinner. This is my wash n go- – I applied Darcys Botanicals daily leave in and Darcy’s Coiling Jelly on top, then I shook for added fluff. I am 6 months post BC in this pic.

This is me chaperoning the Prom. I achieved this flat twist-out by co-washing with HE Hello Hydration, and deep conditioning with Aubrey Organic Honey Suckle Rose. I used Kinky Curly Knot Today as my leave-in and I also used Kinky Curly Curling Custard to help achieve these results.

Hi Nikki, I have been following your blog for about 3-4 months now as I transition. This picture is of me visiting Los Angeles and hanging out with my 6 month old son (as I do most Fridays….but I’m still FIERCE)!! This picture is a day old Twist n Curl, cowashed with HE Hello Hydration and I used Cantu Shea Butter and Miss Jessie’s Curly Merengue to style.

I attempted my first perm rod set on my natural hair which ended up being an epic failure, lol. However, I managed to salvage the style and make lemonade out of lemons. In this picture I was at work on my lunch break having a photoshoot in the car. I have knots in the front and a defined puff in the back with some enhanced curls left over from the rod set.

This picture is my hair two days after my Big Chop. It was a simple wash and go with just a little product. I was on my way to a family gathering, rather nervous about everyone’s reactions, but I got great feedback! I used Aubrey Organics Jojoba conditioner(GREAT!) with almond oil. I really love my TWA, my dad was totally against this at first but now it seems to be growing on him! Thanks for producing this site as a great source for new naturals like me.

Me taking random pics, I had a braid out, pinned to the side. Schools out, nowhere to go! Lol!

This is my first successful braid out. I braided an old twist out using Qhemet’s Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee. I wore the braids for 3 days. I love the definition. Unfortunately, the style only lasted one day. My gym workout and the humidity puffed it up. LOL!!

Here is a picture of my soRhors and me (in the purple dress) at a DC Greek picnic. We looked around and realized we were all natural and decided for a photo opp. 4 of the ladies have locks, I have finger coils in, and the chica in the yellow w/the yellow rose is rocking a wash and go.
Send in your favorite picture with a caption detailing where you were (or where you were headed to), along with a brief description of your hairstyle, to nikki@curlynikki.com. I’ll post several each Friday. Be sure to use ‘Fierce Friday’ as the subject line!
We need more for next week!
