I get asked the question every day, “Why did you go natural?” I wish I could come up with just one reason, but I can’t. I went natural for several reasons, but versatility was number one on the list. When you go natural, it’s not just about wearing one style—it’s about the several styles you can do.

I prefer my hair curly. I have always been natural, (my mother always told me a perm was unnecessary) but I think that I truly embraced being natural once I had curly hair.
I straightened my hair a few days ago, and I hate it. I don't feel as confident. I go into the mirror, and I'm like why doesn't it lay flat on the bottoms, or why is it too flat on the top. I constantly want to look like someone else when my hair is curly.
So I guess that's why I embraced my curly texture, because I needed a confidence boost. Everyone identifies me with it now, and I love that my hair looks beautiful "by itself" (even though I to a Twist out usually) without the help of chemicals or heat tools.
Back when I had a perm, I had to set my hair on huge rollers to get the volume I desire. The funniest thing is that I thought my hair always looked best right before my touch up (hopelessly flawed logic – I KNOW) LOL. I love the fact that I don't have to do much at all to acheive optimum volume; whether straight or curly, b/c GOD already gave it to me!
I love the versatility!
As versatile as my natural hair is, I prefer it one way- CURLY! It is nice to have options though. 🙂
