I love your site. I’m newly natural as of August 14th! A friend of mine, Lorrie Guess, a lifelong natural has been working on this video for her project in grad school. I know I could relate to it and thought that the CN community would enjoy it as well! This is only a rough draft… it’s a work in progress. We’ll definitely let you all know when it’s complete!

very cute video.
i love it!
aw i love it!!!! Great job Lorrie =)!!!
Love it!!
Lovvvvveee it! That is exactly what I went through. Every time it would rain, or it was humid or I even thought about moisture my hair would curl even after I spent 2 hours in the salon getting it straigtented. So, I gave up and embraced my naturally curly hair and have been happy every since!
Great job!
this is real cute and soooo true!!!
super cute 😀 and she looks way better with the curls anyway 😉

Lol…I never thought it was that serious.
That was an awesome little video! Soooo true!
awesome 🙂
That was an adorable video. I think a lot of women can relate to fighting their natural texture, I certainly can! L. Guess is very talented!
How cute! I wanted to watch more.
i was sad that it was so short:(
I agree too short, but I love it – heck my hair is so fine the fog will even destroy a straight style – and the gym, forget it! And that's why I'm transitioning, I want to stand in the rain like the cartoon character ;o)
This video is the story of my life of having to avoid water and humidity.
I love this video! Great job!
Great video!Depicts very well a curly girls fight with water and humidity!
Thanks for all the comments and support!
I'm still working on it, so if you have feedback or comments, please feel free to post them!
I'd like it to be longer too. The assignment was to make a one minute animation, but since I've gotten such a huge response to it, maybe I'll work on expanding it. Feel free to share ideas that you think might help!
Thanks again!
Naturally,

Very cute! I love it!
VERY powerful. I think so many women can relate. The feelings of people "liking" your hair being straight is what many curlies have gone through. For me personally this character represents my feelings about my hair so well. It was a HUGE step for me to be ok with me and love what God had given me. That may not be the case for all but for me it was. Can't wait til it's complete.
I liked this!
I love it! I laugh every time I see something like this because it reminds me of something my sister's ex-boyfriend used to say. Every time she would relax it, he would tell her "I don't know why you keep putting that in, it's just going to go back." I remember dodging rain and even when I got a relaxer, it would revert. I am glad to be happy with my hair, just the way it is! 🙂
This is creative and cool! And very true! Its funny that I stil avoid the rain depending on the style I have…smh
That was great!
