Hola Chicas,
I’m back in my home town of St. Louis with my BFFs and tons of family. Yesterday, we celebrated Baby G’s baptism! The ceremony was beautiful and she did great. At the after party (yes we had an after party, lol) we played Michael Jackson The Experience on Wii. Good times were had by all.
Tonight… the club. I’m so excited y’all. This is my first time going out since last year. Now that I’m a momma, I’m pretty sure dancing on the bar is off limits? In fact, I’ve been going to sleep at 9 since having baby, so I’m just hoping I don’t end up somewhere sleep in the corner. I’m so excited!!! Yay!!!!
p.s. I haven’t washed my hair in 3 weeks! The set in the pictures was done 2 days ago on dry hair using CURLS Souffle.
Baby G looks so beautiful, and you hair looks great Nikki, congratulations on your baptism and God bless.
Congrats Nikki, BabyG, Hubby, and family. I hope all is well. Miss talking to ya…
She is absolutely adorable, your curls look so shiny and defined…i wish i could get my hair to look like that *sigh*.
You have a such a pretty baby!
Beautiful family. All I could do was smile when I looked at the pictures. I'm so happy for you 🙂 May God send many more blessings your way.
Awwwwh, you are truly blessed to have such a beautiful and supportive family. Baby Gia is so gorgeous AND your hair is beautiful! How do you keep it looking so black and shiny???
Ms. Lisa (TX)
Now see, Nikki, let ME not wash my hair for 3 weeks it would not look nearly as fab! Lol
Baby G is beautiful and you have a lovely family. Love the pics, girl! Moments like that you'll have forever.
Please have your Aunt do a review of Darcy's Botanicals. Would be curious to hear which products she uses and how she uses them.
Awwww! What a adorable family you have! Your hair is THRIVING and looking amazing! Have a great holiday!
CurlyNikki, I noticed that Gia's curls were shinny & fluffy too… Other than giving her great genes, what did you do to get her curls poppin?
Congrats! I, like you, am more spiritual than religious… and I'm Catholic too. My fiancé doesn't belong to any religion, he identifies as agnostic so I'm not sure what we're going to do when our little bun is born. Anyway, the pictures are beautiful, I found the robe that the priest wore to be quite lovely. Again congratulations on the baptism.
Oh, and of course, your hair looked fabulous. 🙂

Your whole family is absolutely gorgeous and I love the pics…. looking at her makes me anxious for my next one to arrive:)
Nikki, your hair looks great for three days old. That curls souffle must be pretty awesome because it looks fresh and fabulous. Baby G is so adorable. Congrats on getting her baptized. May she (and you and hubby) stay blessed, happy, and safe always under God's protection. Hope you had a good time out!
She's adorable as always. May the Lord continually keep your lil sparrow forever in his hands.
Thanks for always sharing with us. Luv Baby G
How beautiful!! You guys look great! and Gia is as cute as ever!!! Have fun clubbing!!!
Awww. Thx for sharing Baby G's milestones with us. The pics and updates always make me smile. 🙂
Cogratulations baby Gia!! Same here anon 11:55, I can spot a catholic church from a mile away, looks just like the one I attend. Lol at the afterparty. I thought only we (West Indians) did that.
Awwww…so at the bottom of this post, there's a row of pics to click for older posts, and one of those pictures is a baby pic of you…it's amazing how much Gia really does look like you!! Congratulations, Baby G on your christening!
I knew the moment I saw a picture of the altar that you were in a Catholic church! My family is Catholic, too, although I still attend Catholic church…I went to Catholic school my whole entire life. Can't shake it!
Your hair looks great, especially for three weeks…that's incredible. Not only would my hair look like crap, but I probably would've scratched my scalp til it was bloody by now.
Congrats Gia! Nikki thanks so much for sharing, these pics brightened up my drab monday @ the office!
BTW… How are your curls popping like that after 3 weeks? I am amazed!!! Maybe you should contact Guiness… we (curlygirls) deserve a category in the book of world records.
Awww…so sweet.
Where did you go out in STL…. I've lived nearby for 2 years and have yet to go out. Any suggestions? And do you know of any indian shops?
Thanks so much for sharing these with us! Baby G is growing up so fast, I still feel like she was just born a little while ago. lol You (including your luscious hair) and your family look so nice. Congrats on such a special occasion. ~KF519

What a lovely occasion for family to come together. (The whole family has gorgeous hair btw)
(3 WEEKS?!?! Your hair looks amazing!!)
But congratulations on reaching this milestone 😀
@anonymous 12:10 you don't have to bare underneath kente lOl. the men in my family usually wear shorts (and sometimes an undershirt if they feel like it).
I agree with Quaneasha…my opinion, that was such a DUMB comment!!! LETS BE ADULTS HERE!!! FREEDOM OF RELIGION…hello??? focus on your own life and stop slandering others.
Im happy for you Nikki, God bless you and your family…btw your hair is awesome!!!!
Awww! Baby G always looks like she's thinking about something. I guess the next pics will be of her joining MENSA 🙂 You have such a beautiful family
Love the posts and major congrats on this milestone. It's important for her to be in a house with two Godly parents, please don't let her choose, guide her!
@naturallychelsea
Kente cloth is traditionally used in African themed ceremonies. I always thought that it was exclusive to Ghana, but found out that there are numerous versions depending on the region. BTW, a cousin wanted to get married in a full Kente wrap, but quickly changed his mind when it was explained that he was supposed to be "bare" underneath. LOL. Surprised to see it woven in the priest's robe!
Awww! Baby Gia is sucking her finger in the 3rd pic. And the drool in the last pic- classic! She looks pretty calm. Did she cry?
Get a life Anon 11:49! You do not have to agree with anything that she does but if you have nothing nice to say then KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED~~
Congratulations for indoctrinating your poor innocent child into an oppressive and nihilistic death cult.
I'm I the only one thinking this?(please don't take offense) What did you do get in shape after the baby? I am so scared that my body would not bounce back!
Aaaaaaaaaaawwww, this is so heartwarming! Your family is gorgeous! Y'allz' curls be glistenin'! =) Your hubby looked like he wanted to hold the baby in some pics. You two are very very blessed!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG your set has such definition!!! It looks amazing!
how wonderful! Thank you for sharing!!
Baby G is getting so big and shes such a cutie! So while I was looking @ the pictures for this post and my niece (who is 18 months) says "oooo baby" and tries to give baby g a kiss via the computer screen lol.
beautiful pics Nikki
She is gorgeous; congrats! I'm in StL too…had no clue there was a meet up. Maybe next time.
Hi Nikki beautiful pics of you and your family. Hey you are in StL? I wish you could have been at the meetup at Matthew Dickey's boys and girls club.
Your hair looks wonderful on the pictures!
oh and no, my mom is in the blazer with the white hair. The woman in red is my aunt and now Godmother of G. She used Darcy's Botanicals to style her twist-out.
thanks ladies!!!
the sashes? strange, right?! They signified that we had a some sort of roll in the ceremony. My family is catholic, my husband's, non-denominational. So we had it in a catholic church but the priest baptized her as a 'child of God' as opposed to a catholic. We have NO idea what we church we'll raise her in. I'm more spiritual than I am religious, lol, I suppose all the 'heathens' say that.
Awww that is wonderful!
P.S. Nothing to do with you hair. I hope I snap back like you did. You look great!
Congrats!!! You all look so happy together and Baby G is adorable. Your hair is beautiful. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks!
Congratulations! Your family looks beautiful.
congratulations, you're blessed ms. nikki!
