My Grandpa is Here!

By January 27th, 202153 Comments

Hola Chicas,

I’m so excited I just had to share! My grandpa (my mom’s father) drove all the way from Pensacola, Florida to meet Baby G. I haven’t held my baby in 2 friggin’ days.

My grandmother is natural… 26 years strong!

My Grandpa is Here!

My Grandpa is Here!
4 generations!
Momma is all natural now as well… after a 2.5 year transition

My Grandpa is Here!
See all that white hurr (that’s my St. Louis style, LOL)?! Grandpa went gray by 29, and my mother by 32. Is gray in my near future? I haven’t henna’ed in 6 months and I’ve got about 10 strands popping through. Not a good look. I probably won’t be rocking the family trademark… henna’ing to keep my grays auburn, at least for now 🙂

Later Gators,
Nik

This is my first time coming to this web page, but I am a new fan!!! I am a graduate from UNC too, so maybe that's where the connection began! haha! But I must say, your baby is soo precious!!! Congrats! I look forward to becoming natural and fully embracing the beauty of the curls that God blessed me with in the near future. I have a lot of anxiety about it though! I really feel like your site and bloggers will help me with this!

I hope Gia is feeling better! What a GORGEOUS family you have! I'm totally loving that silver hair, too, btw. What a crown you could own (if you decide to stop henna-ing) <3

    Take care!

Hope Baby G feels better soon for her sake and yours – so you can enjoy tomorrow night.

Is Baby G a hair puller? She looks like she is tugging your hair in the second shot.

    Beautiful family–all generations!

Gorgeous family Nikki! You're blessed and so is your daughter.

Please highlight your mom in one of the daily articles. Would love to hear about her transition, her perspective on grey hair & why she chose that route vs. color, and her hair care routines & advice. At 62 (I greyed prematurely also) and a double transitioner from color & straightening, I can't get enough info about us grey-haired naturals. Beautiful family!!!

Mom's hair is absolutely beautiful! You may want to reconsider hiding those grays 🙂

Great looking family, I can see where all the features come from with your granddad, to your mom, you and even baby G. I wouldn't worry about the gray hair because your mother is striking and gorgeous with her hair I know gray hair is a stigma but it really compliments her skin and features and you look like your mom so don't worry

  • Unknown says:

Does Gia know she's posing in that last picture? Mmk Diva! lol

  • GGmadeit says:

  • daromun says:

What a beautiful family! How lovely to have all your generations in one place.

And your mom's hair is BANGING. I'm now inspired to show more love to my 2 (that I can see) gray strands if that's what could result.

  • Anonymous says:

I am so jealous. I wish I knew what it was like to have a family. I am sure you know how lucky you are…

  • Anonymous says:

Nikki, Gia is adorable and getting so big!!! Ooooh, I just want to squeeze her! LOL!!! And your mother is absolutely gorgeous and her hair is gorgeous!!! She looks young as all get out and I swear, if she wasn't completely grey, I'd think she was your twin in this shot!!! My sister is almost completely grey at 36, but she dyes her hair dark brown/black, so only get a glimpse when her new growth comes in. She relaxes her hair but keeps it in the short Halle Berryish cut. I have a lot of grays at 38 and am sticking with the henna plan myself=). I hope to be a fiery, deep rosy redhead one day;-). Right now, I have deep red streaks on about 4 inches of the length of my hair in the front that look like highlights (I use indigo on the back so I don't look like "Patchy" there). Anywho, again, beautiful family, great genes. If your mom is any indication, you are going to look like you're in your twenties for the next 40-50 years and Gia will look like YOUR sister in her 20s;)!!
