Question: Can transitioners use the tangle teezer as well? I will BC in 3 months and 2 weeks (May 25) so until then I wear protective styles but as you may imagine when its time to take them out I usually fight with detangeling for hours. The Tangle Teezer may be my saving grace…
I finally used my tangle teezer on dry hair last night (needed to re-twist my 'do)… OMG! This thing tha BIZNESS!!!! I also noticed that my twist-out set much better – probably from smoother strands to start.
After trying both a modified D3 Denman, a D31 Denman and then modifying my D31 Denman, I can say that both of those brushes will be pushed aside and used solely for styling (D31) and blow drying (D3) and THIS will be my detangling brush from here on out!!!
BTW – my hair is aprox. APL, 4a/4b and has a medium coarseness.
Aw, I love these young girls so educated about their natural hair! Yes, Mz Kay-Kay is too cute and makes a very intelligent presentation! Love her twist out & smile
Love her! She should def enter the NC blogger contest. She's adorable and the vids were very well put together.
S/N I'm buying a tangle teezer when I get off work!
Good article.I guess great minds think-alike.Why is it that when people are similar we instatnly think they are copying?.
I enjoy Kimmaytube's video , however people can use voice over and good editing without copying that is simply being creative. I don't like super long videos and enjoy people making an effort so Kaykay you go gal!I like how she DIDN'T do a shower scene! Full ratings for that. 🙂
I bought a tangle teezer and I guess I'm in the minority because I hated it! I detangled in smaller sections than usual and as gently as possible and I still felt it snagging my hair at times. I have mostly 4a hair and its at my shoulders with shrinkage. I did enjoy this vid and I'm now subscribed to her!
I have my own routine and only detangle with fingers or my Hercules Sägemann comb – I don't like the Denman and doubt I'd like the Tangle Teaser – but I love KayKay's input and will watch out for her vids. Very nice and informative!
I bought one and used it for the first time last night. I LOVE IT!!!! It works. I didn't have that much hair in the brush and I didnt make the scrunched up face when I detangled. I have 4a/b hair and it went through with ease. I am a hard critic when it comes to products but I will definitely be using it instead of my denman/wide tooth comb for detangling. You gotta get one.
Yeah this video was really good, and Kay Kay is just as cute as can be should do some modeling. I like the way she has her twists styled with the beanie hat will try that style since I just put some twists in yesterday.
Also just curious have you ladies ever put in a weave/wig in using Bobby pins only?. This fellow youtuber "Napngo"did a grerat job of it. I actually this was her real hair lol.. Here's the link of the video to see it, I will have to try this myself.
I rarely watch a YT video until the end because there is too much commentary included. How refreshing not to hear someone focus on the topic.
KayKay is attractive and has a pleasant voice. She managed to give a concise 4 minute presentation. I have seen the minute count for similar videos stretch to 8+ minutes.
I just bought one at Sally's yesterday too! Went through my hair very easily. I, like De Anna did have a decent amount of hair shed in the brush, but I've had my hair in a stretched braided bun style for the last four days. So, it's probably to be expected. What I did notice was that I didn't see broken pieces!! Maybe one or two, but nothing like when I finger comb dry or with conditioner. My hair stretched is barely wavy though and I'm like a 3b with some 3a at my nape and 3c at my crown that may be looser now because of henna.
Beautiful young lady. Very informative videos, and very professional delivery. I ordered the tangle teezer from Sallys. I cannot wait for it to arrive. I will also try her hair regimen. I'm on my way to check out her other videos.
Great job Kay Kay! I like your delivery and professionalism. Watching your vids on YT now. Don't let negative comments or attitudes get to you. You are beautiful and I hope to see more vids from you soon. I am currently transitioning and need all the help I can get! 🙂
i just bought one today and i loved it. it went through my curls like a hot knife through butter. i had a lot of strands in it but i dont know if its the tangle teezers fault or just shed hair because ive had my hair in a bun for like 2 straight days.
In the beginning, when she's smile, she looks a lot like Beyonce. Pretty girl. Anyways, I might have to try the Tangle Teezer. It seems to work for a lot of people.
At Sarah:
Erm… What exactly did you expect to see in the background while she was WASHING her hair?. A church, her dining room table? her front steps? Duh!.
I don't think she's trying to copy Kimmaytube. She probably just wants her videos to be professional and attractive. At any rate, she's gorgeous and this is a good review! I might try it
MAANNN!!! I just bought a denman the other day and now im hearing about this tangle teezer and seeing how little hair she shed is gonna make me want to get this too. smh
Loved the review. My only suggestion, meant in the most constructive way, is to be a little more original in you video delivery. It was very "kimmaytube-like" and I think that you definitely have the potential to develop your own original style…
I bought a Tangle Teezer on Monday and I love, love, love it!! I dont usually have a problem detangling rather quickly with a widetooth comb, but I though I'd see if this worked better. It does. I lost virtually no hair. I have used it on wet and dry hair with same results. Im going to give some away as gifts. This little tool is simply magical!!
how cute. she is like a little Kimmaytube. i had to laugh though at how official she was trying to be… with the shower curtain and towel rod so exposed in the background.
I just bought this detangler yesterday, and i was amazed i was able to use to deltangle my twist out , that is very, very tangled with minimal breakage and my hair was dry , i didnot add no conditioner , NOTHING !!!, IT IS THE TRUTH….
