Fusionofcultures writes;

This a super cute protective style for all you naturally glam divas, that can potentially give you a new look everyday. Remember you’re only limited by your imagination! This style can be created on Natural, Relaxed & Transitioning hair effortlessly :o) However, you need to be able to flat twist.

I love this! I do this all the time. The possibilities are endless, it's always my go to style when I'm at a loss.

I did this updo, and even though my hair is not as thick as hers because I am currently in transition(almost a yr! 10months in) it still looked FIERCE! I wore it to a sports banquet that I had to get dressed up for and it really completed my look. My natural friends who have never tried an updo are really trying to get my to do their hair like mine. It made me feel like a natural diva. I'm glad I was able to do this style because Im trying to leave it like this for about a week and then redo so I can protect my ends better and do low manipulation

This is a nice hairstyle to try that Naptural85 fellow youtuber just did to her hair. This may work nicely for the fine haired women, hope that everyone enjoys it. It's filed under: Romantic Textured Bird's Nest Side Bun

    Love it!!

I love this style…but like others, my hair is fine. However, on stretched hair, my twists plump up quite nicely (they have to be fairly big and not twisted tight, which I think will work with this style). The only modification I'd have to make is to do the front in flat twists to the side, because single double strand twists look…well…horrible on me 🙂 All us fine-haired ladies should try the style with perhaps some modifications and post pics 🙂

This is the first time that I've commented on a tutorial but not the first time on this site. I had to comment on that beautiful style. I only hope I can achieve this same look but sad to say my hair may be too thin as well. I was really thinking of cutting my hair off in a low style prior to finding this site as it's so hard to be natural in the corporate world. Thanks Curly Nikki, and thanks to Fusion for that and other beautiful styles.

Wow this hairstyle came out so pretty. I love the fullness and shine and the color in the front of the hair. You have skills that's for sure 🙂

What a gorgeous hairstyle! It makes me wish (only a little) that I hadn't big chopped again…

That looks really cute. I can't wait til my hair is long enough to try it.

I love this style! But like Curly Nikki & Shelli, my hair is really fine. Oh to have plump twists….=/.

@ Shelli, the Marley braids definitely pump up the volume & thickness. I used it for my twists a couple of months ago. Also I think Ms. Vaughn (sp?) has a video where she does a twist up do using Marley braiding hair as well.

Nik, I have some of that Marley braiding hair and was thinking, "Maybe I can fake it by adding some to the single twists or the loose ends of the flat twists!" LOL. I'm wondering if we let our hair dry, then finger comb to get it as big as possible, THEN twists, could we pull it off?!?! I know, I know … wishful thinking. LOL!

(p.s. I meant in the earlier post, "The RED makes the look more dimensional.")

  • CURLYNIKKI says:

Shelli, that's why I'll never be able to rock these gorgeous styles… I'll just live vicariously through them, with my fine hair'ed self. My twists look so twiggy!

West did this style in a youtube tutorial too, but I think she did it on hair that was blow dried straight. I did the style and really liked it, except my hair is fine, so my twists are never as plump and juicy as West's and Fusion. Wish they were, but you work with what ya got=). This looks beautiful on her. My question, is the red henna on lightened hair? It looks like the henna on my grey hair (I have a lot), but I can't imagine she has grey like I do as she looks so young and I'm almost 39 with serious pre-mature greying. Again though, gorgeous. The read makes the look more dimensional.

real cute! but it looks like a style that takes forever to make on long hair…

  • Anonymous says:

    Beautiful! Beautiful!
I wonder if this style is 'natural' enough for the natural hair police. Lol!
