What Have You Revisited Lately?
Hola Chicas,

I grew bored of my bun last weekend, and did a dry twist-out on my straight-ish, roller set hair. I detangled with oiled fingers and twisted with Oyin’s Shine and Define. I think it’s been a year or more since I last used this product, but let me just say, I am more than impressed with my results. My hair is moisturized, soft, and even has a little hold. I slept with it out last night and it still looks the same this morning! The Shine and Define performed the same as CURLS Curl Souffle… and if it keeps me moisturized for more than 2-3 days at a time, it will be a mainstay in my dry set routine.

What have you revisited lately?

I recently revisited the PM foaming pomade. Used it when I initially BC'd and stopped when I learned more about ingredients. Now that I finally have some length, I found that it is making my curls pop and giving me the big hair that I crave with my WnG's.

I've revisited Devacurl products (One condition and Heaven in hair, so far). I'll also going back to No-poo. My hair was doing fine, even with coloration I was able to use Aussie, Suave, Herbal Essences, Elseve (market and drugstore stuff)… Then, I had some highlights done. Why???? I kept using the other stuff but the hair didn't respond anymore and slowly it became dehydrated, hard to manage and brittle. Few applications of Deva stuff transformed my hair. I swear, I am not receiving nothing to tell this. Those products rock on my hair. I'm going to stick to them for a long time.

I recently (like tonight!) revisited Darcy's Botanicals Curling Cream Gel. I used it a few times this past winter, but it wasn't the time of year for me to wear "out" styles due to weather so I wasn't impressed. I fell in love with this product for the first time now that the weather is appropriate.

Not all products works for all seasons…

Suave almond and shea butter conditioner for co-washes. I stopped using it a long time ago after I found Aussie Moist. A few weeks ago I wanted to just use it up and get rid of the bottle, and was surprised that I liked it. I think since my regimen has changed since I first bought it, it seems to work much better than I remember. I just might repurchase.

I recently revisited coconut oil. The last time I used it was right after my BC and I thought it dried out my hair. When actually it was just the postBC dryness. Now my hair loves it. I've been wanting to retry the Oyin Shine and Define as well. It was the first thing I used after BCing and wasn't wowed. But I'd like to give it a go.

Your posts are always so relevant to me! I recently revisited vegetable glycerin and water mix. When I first used it I just felt it was a hair-board-bandwagon-waste-of-time – basically because I wasn't seeing results, Lol! The spritzing seemed meaningless to me and I couldn't figure out what the mix was supposed to be doing.

I had a eureka moment and now know it conditions my hair making it super soft, is a great fix for my dehydrated strands, dries quickly and is a great addition to finger combing. I take out and re-do styles without seeing crispy 'hair spiders' all over my sink.

I recently revisited using Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque for my deep conditioner. I used it a couple of times this summer and was unimpressed but I love it right now.

Oyin Whipped Pudding. I had a bit left from a previous jar. I've used it three times this week to moisturize my hair before sealing it. I'm glad I did my hair feels good. I ordered more.

I went back to Giovanni Direct Leave In. I loved it early on in my transition and for some reason I stopped using it. Well, 2 years later and we are back in love again… That's how love goes 😉

Hey CN!!I abs love your blog! You have truly influenced the dialogue in the natural community! Keep it up chica!I digress..

I revisted Kinky Curly's Knot Today. I haven't tried anything else on the line (mainly because of the steep prices)but I must say, when you apply this stuff on freshly washed and dripping hair, it works wonders! I apply homemade shea concoction afterwards and proceed to twist.

    Thanks,

I recently revisit Aussie Moist after refusing to give up cones, after all. I remember why I love it so much, bought the liter size, and am amazed every time by how good it smells.
