Updo’s should be a part of every woman’s arsenal of hairstyles. Nothing says lady quite like a nicely pinned coif. There are a ton of styles available to create a great look. So get creative and try an updo today.
Benefits:
- Can be creative
- Takes only a few minutes
- It doesn’t have to be perfect
- Anyone can do it
My favorite updo is a mixture of the front of my hair swooped to the side and the remainder (the back and sides) rolled up tight! I really just pull my hair back, roll and tuck tightly if I want it to be a protective style. I just make sure all the ends are not exposed.
So grab some hair pins and start rolling and pinning! Get creative, it doesn’t have to be perfect it just has to be you!
Are you an updo girl? What’s your favorite style and share your process or a link!
Yeah, exactly what Pamela said. I wear updos just about everyday since I wash my 4B hair everday. They keep my hair tame and looking fab while also protecting. I wear variatons of the same 4 or 5 styles but usually wherever I stick the styling combs is where I start.
Updos and buns = practical, protective, feminine, chic & professional. You can't go wrong! I wear my hair in updos and bun styles probably 99.9% of the time.
I am definitely an updo girl! I need ease, relative predictability, and simplicity in the morning. Updos are my go to style. I have a couple pics in my fotki:

I'm always wearing updos. I've learned to really like them and I love wearing my hair out on those rare occasions. My only concern with updos is the fact that I may be pulling on my roots too much since I wear them a majority of the time.
Like many have commented here, I to love updos especially as a protective style, since I can't braid or twist well. So early in my natural journey I figured that an updo was an easy way to protect my ends.
I am a up-do girl through and through, I absolutely love them! I stay in a bun or some other up style and I'm pefectly happy with it. They fit my personality and look good with everything, and the fact that it's protective's is an added bonus, my hair is flourishing [finally hit waist length yay!!] and I don't have to spend tons of time on it and still look good for everyday, a nice event or a date, I love it.
It's funny cause I used to hate haveing my hair up, esp relaxed, but there are just so many fun and easy [which is my main thing] style to do that are extremely flattering, I'm hooked!
Now don't get me wrong i LOVE big hair, and this gives me the option to have it when i want and still feel just as fly when I tuck it away
Braided updo'!. 2 Frenchbraids that frame the face and wrap around, pinned up in the back. Elegant & feminine. A bit girly too. I have thick hair, so bringing my hair up off my shoulders and face in the warm L.A. weather is a must !!
I love updos! this has become my go-to style because it fits with everything, and only takes me about 3 hours to achieve, and lasts for 3 weeks.

Updo girl, Not so much! Only because they don't look too good on me, the exception is the bun in the back with a swish to the side bang in front. Hope yal got that! lol However, I think they look FAB on other natural beauties! 🙂
Love an updo!
Beauty and elegance personified!
I am wearing an updo today as a result of a failed braid out refresh attempt that went horribly wrong. All things happen for a reason I guess. My updo looks pretty cute:-)
Girl, yes. I put my hair and 6 big twists. Then I twist them around, pin them up and keep it moving! Hair washing, deep conditioning and styling for me is usually under an hour- and I stay fly.. Hair stays protected, too.
I'm rocking an updo right now…it is perfect for the summer…and gives me more of a mature, elegant look…I love it

I absolutely love updo's. Elegant and beautiful with little effort. Easy to do and it protects your ends. Win-Win!
tghey=they ; fell=feel
I love updos and buns. I like them because tghey are super cute, easy and artistic (I fell like I just sculpted a master piece after doing my hair).
My favorite are cinnabuns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP8FdTTsSk4), mega buns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAqqOF37zc0) and roll-n-tuck styles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izwn_mBXFOg).
I love looking at the Coily Crowns blog (http://coilycrowns.wordpress.com) for updo and bun ideas.
love updos cause the seem more special orlike they took more effort. a little fancy. Relaxed or natural. Plus I love to show of my neck and collarbone. I think the neck area of a woman is the most attractive feature. Plus it leaves room to add jewelry without it being too much
For those who haven't seen this video yet please check it out. It's basically a high twisted bun with a pinned up swooped bang. The MissGlamourGirl did it with her hair and added extensions. I on the otherhand achieved the same style with BSL kinky twists.
