It’s Friday and I’m tired of winter’s drab! I wanted to brighten and liven things up! This is a 4 day old twist, protective style, that I twisted-OUT… with my home-made hair flower. I just felt like ushering in Spring a little early…BAM!

Thanks to your blog and all your lovely subscribers, I am finally learning to love my natural hair!! It is growing like a crazy and I feel awesome about where it is going. I am rocking a day old twist-out with a classic red rose. I used Shea Moisture’s Styling Milk. My husband is in the back being silly! He loves that I am so confident with my natural hair and finally embracing the real me.

I am on the right with the curly fro, with two of friends; out at my sister’s 28th Birthday celebration. All natural. Locs, press and curl, and afro—but ALL fabulous.

This was taken of Valentine’s Day. I was out to lunch with my husband, but my real love that day was Black Betty, my hair in her twist-out, lol!

I’m at work with my first ever braid-out!! I used Mixed Chicks Leave-in and braided the hair after it air dried (won’t do that again). I BC’d 14 months ago and have been flat ironing ever since, now I’m trying to get away from the flat iron. I love this and will keep it as my signature style!!

Here’s a pic of my simple bun that is great as a protective style. I use a Goody Ouchless Band to smooth my hair into a puff. I then grab a section of hair, roll with my fingers, and secure with an “open” hair pin. Set with a scarf and you are good to go!

@Pamela: Thank you! I wear that style for a week at a time. I spray with my moisture mix every night (water, castor oil), add aloe vera gel to the edges and tie it up with a scarf.

These styles all look great! Alta Angel, I tried that style today. Love it! How do you maintain it? Do you redo it everyday or sleep with a scarf/bonnet at night? How long does it last?
