This is me in Charlotte, NC at CIAA 2011. I’m 8 months post BC and loving it! I washed with Aussie Moist Shampoo and conditioned with Giovanni 50/50 and Paul Mitchell’s The Detangler. I then did some flat twists on the side and a twist out on the other side using Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. My friends loved it and it was super easy for the weekend 🙂

I was at a Surprise 40th Birthday Party. As I was cleaning the table, the photographer wanted to take my picture. This look is inspired from Ms. Vaughn’s The Jamaican Braiding Updo. By the way, Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque is my best friend!

After spending an hour trying to manipulate a twist-out into an up-do for a CIAA party, I got frustrated and did a ‘faux blow’ with my tangle teezer and an Afro pic…and got MAJOR compliments all night!

I had just got back from celebrating my sister’s birthday at the club and my hair STILL looked cute so I had to take a pic. This was a twist-out on week old twists that I pinned back into a mohawk. Almost a year since my BC and loving it.

This a cornrow twist updo. The back of my hair is in cornrows and the front is in two strand twists. This is sort of a play on Janelle Monae’s signature style. Hubby and I spent the day shopping and capped the day with dinner. I live in NC and it was a beautiful day to be outside. I will also upload a video showing how I achieved the hairstyle.

At work…did I a Twist and Curl using flexi-rods after doing my first Henna treatment. Loving it!!!!

This is a dry twist-out on an old TnC with SheaMoisture Smoothie and KinkyCurly Curling Custard. I used Shea butter to seal the ends. Love it!
