How to Choose a Shampoo For Hard Water

How to Choose a Shampoo For Hard Watervia Naturallycurly.com;

Trying to find for the right shampoo for hard water? You might not need to look any further than your basket of baby bath supplies.

Cocamidpropyl betaine is a detergent often found in baby shampoos or added to other sulfate-free shampoos to boost foaming. It is a mild cleanser that works better than other detergents in hard water—because it is neither cationic nor anionic. It can act as either—so the minerals in hard water do not prevent it from creating foam or alter its ability to clean.

The mildness of these shampoos depends on how often you wash your hair as well as the formulation
of the product. If a shampoo seems too harsh, try it diluted first before you rule it out for good.

    Dr. Bronners Castile Soaps has been a miracle in a bottle for me. I have hard water and I did some research on Dr. Bronners Magic Soaps and its supposed to work well with hard water, plus its organic and my hair feels so soft without conditioning..
    (I dilute the soap in a spray bottle with 2 parts warm water and 1 part soap and has a nice lather)

    FYI ladies,I saw this info posted on LHCF concerning a good sale and wanted to share it on here.

    Renpure is on sale at Rite Aid for 4.99 and you get a 4.99 coupon back (to use on anything) when you use your Rite Aid Wellness card (which is free if you dont have one)…also some bottles have rebate coupons on them for the full purchase price, so you actually could get double your money back. I've never tried their products before, but i was waiting for a sale, so this is a good for people who want to try it but don't want to pay full price. I got the 'my pretty hair is parched! moisturizing conditioner' (red bottle) …Giovanni products are also on sale for 5.49.

    also Organix products are BOGO free at Walgreens.

    lawd my hair made a complete turnaround after I got a filter from home depot for my hard water. Even my skin is softer…i'd rather just invest in a filter…

    I like co-washing because, among other reasons, it doesn't matter about the softness of the water because conditioner doesn't sud anyway.

    Kinky Curly Come Clean is said to be good for hard water, it says on the bottle. So I use this.
