Have you ever paid to attend a workshop? If so, how much did u pay? Was the information worth the money?
I’ve always wanted to attend one but I couldn’t find one locally or affordable enough for me to consider traveling. But my prayers have been answered and it’s a workshop in my city for $50 per course (2 courses offered) and now I’m having second thoughts, what would you do?
Thanks in advance!

I’m not one for workshops… my attention span is entirely too short. I learn by reading (at my leisure) and doing, but everyone is different.
However, one benefit is that you get to meet and mingle with other naturals in your area. I would consider going if for nothing more than that! The meaningful connections you’ll make with other curlies could lead to meetups in the future!
Thanks ladies! I went to the workshop because I've wanted to attend one for sometime and to have that experience to blog about. It was great but I would've some hands on styling demos. Like CN said it's a great way to meet other naturals and it's given me an idea to start having my own meetups.
CN are u coming to Jacksonville or any of the surrounding areas?
Take a look at new blog and read about my experience at the workshop. Http://lovinminaturally.blogspot.com
I haven't been to a natural hair workshop yet, but I have been to a few of natural hair meetups. I paid $20 dollars for two and one was free. One provided styling demonstrations and a small gift bag and some champagne. The others were basically just a bunch of natural ladies getting together to talk about their hair.
I think it depends on where you are in your hair journey and your knowledge level and what you're trying to accomplish. If you're very new to this and have limited knowledge/skills and the workshop will fill in that gap then I'd say go for it, however, if you think that you may be able to obtain this knowledge/skills from another source (such as a book, Youtube, blogs, etc.) then I'd say $50 is A LOT OF MONEY to spend just to meet some other naturals.
I think the concepts of workshops are great but like CN I learn better by reading (or watching YT videos) and doing it myself.
Hope this helps and good luck!
