Use and Old T-shirt to Dry Natural Hair

Use and Old T-shirt to Dry Natural Hairvia Naturallycurly.com

Instead of a towel, use an old t-shirt to dry your hair. Towels can create a scrubbing effect on your hair, removing product and damaging curl. The smoother texture of a t-shirt will prevent frizz and help to maintain your healthy locks.

Squeeze your curls gently, never rub, in order to preserve your natural curl pattern. Move along in sections, taking a hand full of hair at a time. Keep in mind that overexposure to any type of touch can cause curly hair to lose volume or become frizzy. For best results, t-shirt dry each section of your hair only once. Be sure to squeeze out excess water and then let the final drying be by air.

I started a while back and I saw the reduction of knots, lint and frizz. I don't know why I didn't discover this earlier!

Thanks for posting this! I just recently started using old t-shirts to dry my hair for braidouts/twistouts…I tie it on like a scarf and use the sleves to keep it secure while my hair is drying. My curls are less frizzier! I don't use this method for my wash & go's only because I like to apply my products to wet hair. (May work well for others though) πŸ™‚

i keep hearing that old t-shirts are the way to go for drying. i've never done it in the way described, but it seems like a good thing to attempt. ::fingers crossed for future wash & go's::

This is the second time I saw this today, so i guess I really need to get on it. I have old t shirts and definitely need to switch to that. Never scrubbed with a towel, cause I know its bad, so I usually just end up making a bit of a mess on the floor

I switched to using a t-shirt for drying my hair and I haven't looked back since! I usually just fold it around my hair like a turban instead of scrubbing/squeezing my hair with it. The shirt soaks up water quickly.

I usually use my boyfriend's t-shirts because they are much larger and are made from a thick cotton material (I haven't told him though!)

which fabric is better for the tshirt please ? is cotton okay? because I know sleeping on cotton is not good because it's gonna dry your hair out, but in this case, what we want is to dry our hair so…?

I did try using a t-shirt to dry my hair other than a towel & I like way better. So now, I always use a t- shirt to dry my hair.

It's weird, i once dried my hair with a t- shirt because i didnt have any clean towel and i thought that my hair wasnt frizzy at all, but for some reason i never continued using a t-shirt, so thanks for the reminder!! πŸ˜€
