@ChrLvsBks: I like the results with HeavenInHair (slightly) better because my curls are a little more defined. But I have learned to be very careful not to use too much product or it can feel a little sticky before I apply the ArcAngel. That's not really a problem with the SM Curl&Style Milk because it dilutes easily on wet hair and is more forgiving if you accidently use too much.
@Anon 3:59 PM Do both the Heaven in Hair & SheaMoisture Curl & Style Milk give you the same results when styling your WnGs? I ask because I use the technique you do & have tried and liked Heaven in Hair with DevaCare ArcAngel.
I have 4a hair and get similar results from using the DevaCurl "scrunching" technique. It's much quicker than the method in this video. I use either DevaCurl HeavenInHair ($$$) or SheaMoisture Curl&Style Milk ($). I work about a palm full of product through my wet hair with my head upside down and scrunch the ends of my wet curls in an upward direction which sets the curls and removes excess water. I finish with literally a dime-sized dollop of DevaCare ArcAngel applied to the ends and canopy, and a few shakes. Then I flip my head up andlet it air dry while I'm out and about. Quick, easy, and cute wash-n-go every time.
Lol @ iri9109! I absolutely agree about the KCCC. It is way to expensive for me considering I have my hair and my girls to do. I think I'll try this but my hair is short now so I don't know how it will work :/
i tried this last night, and today i'm having one of my best hair days ever…i though ecostyler was too heavy for my hair but i'm really liking the results….i'm happy too because now i dont have to buy more kinky curly curling custard lol
"Prettydimples01" fellow youtuber has 2 great videos on here that you may like for the ecostyler mix and diffusing look.
This is called diffusing

I agree with Anon at 11:31. While her hair looks great, I wish this blog (and others) would actually do a feature on what 4B hair types look like with this style. Eco styler gel is not for us – leads to hard, crunchy ill defined style which FLAKEs. This is not a "technique for defining curls". This is rather "what naturally defined curls patterns look like". There is no technique to be learned- your hair either looks this way or it doesn't!
Will this work to keep my hair stretched in a braid out? I'm using the curl Smoothie now for my braid out and I love it, but it still shrinks a lot and doesn't have much hold. Anybody ever try to mix the two products for a braid out?
This is really great idea young lady. I would have never thought of mixing these two products. I'll try it once I remove my braids. My hair is not as long, so I'll be curious to see the results. Thanks for sharing!
I was thinking about trying this and now I see the video. I love Ecostyler gel but wasn't sure if it had long term drying effects. Mix with a moisturizer even better.

So throughout the week you don't use anything for moisture and your hair doesn't feel hard or dry?
I too have both products at home and will give it a try.
Similar to YouTuber CrazyLeah's technique.

Very similar to the Ouidad's rake and shake, that does not work for tightly curly hair, unfortuntely.

I like this. I wonder if it will work with my tightly coiled hair in the back?
This is a very cool video! I will definitely try the eco styler gel and this method to see how it works for my curls 🙂
Great video! I smooth out my hair the same way. Cool!
My hair isnt long enough for this, but I like her tutorial none the less 🙂

I cant wait to try this, I have both products on hand.
