I’ve been toying with the idea of using a single system on my hair. I want to see if using all the products from a single line makes any difference. Do any of you ladies use a single line of products?
I'm a new natural and so far I like Jane Carter Solutions, Kinky Curly and AO each line does something different for my hair. I do like the idea of using one line for cost effectiveness and accessibility.
I tried Shea Moisture deep treatment masque and was not impressed with the results on my hair.
To those that buy Qhemet Products thought I would share in case you hadn’t heard.

I've tried a few of Qhemet products and I liked them but I must say as far as twistouts and moisture, Oyin's whole line worked beautifully. As a matter of fact, when I switched to another product (product junkyism), my hair suffered for it.
Now, I'm going back to Oyin and since it's sold at Sage Naturalceuticals here in Atlanta, it works out better for me because I don't have to pay shipping and I get my products when I want them.
Shea Moisture all the way! My family and I use the Hair Milk, Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Moisture Retention Shampoo just to name a few. I had success with Qhemet's line too, but I love the accessibility and results of Shea Moisture.
I am an Oyin girl. Their entire line makes my hair sing praises. The Burnt Sugar Pomade is perfect for me because it doesn't leave my hair greasy, but it seals well, and the smell??? *sigh* Caramel corn or carrot cake. The juices are amazing, and the honey hemp conditioner is the ONLY one I use besides Suave Naturals.
I have tried Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie – which is AMAZING!!!!I've have been thinking to try the entire line just out of curiousity to see if I would get better results. What is the best line from Shea Moisture? I think they have 3 different lines.
I use from EVERY product line out there…I like experimenting to see which products are the most effective for my various needs. I recently discovered Qhmet, (bought the Morenga softening serum, Olive and Honey balm and Amla heavy cream. I am most pleased with the Olive and Honey balm which is sooo moisturizing. When I use it, my hair stays soft for several days.
I also love Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie which gives me great twist outs, Kinky Curly Curl Custard which gives me fabulous results every time plus my own home brewed mixes. I'm also growing to love the Design Essentials curl stretching cream – perfect twist outs and smooth frizz free hair.
I read somewhere that hair and beauty products (like face wash, toner, lotion, etc) are designed to work together. I tend to use shampoo and conditioner and sometimes hair moisturizer from the same line. Honestly I think having a routine and being consistent is more important than the products you use, after all there's not that much difference in the base/active ingredients.
The only product line I use is Shea Moisture (from Shampoo to Styling). Currently, I am using the Organic Yucca and Baobab [green] for my thin hair but am realizing my hair doesn't care for that line in comparison to the Raw Shea Butter/Moisture line [yellow]. I think it's due to the thickness of the products. My hair is very kinky and curly and loves thick products. I love the Curl Enhancing Smoothie for styling. Otherwise, any thing else in my hair care regimen would be: Herbal Essence Hydralicious Conditioner for co-washing (to me it beats the Herbal Essence Hello Hydration), and several oils from Avocado Oil-Sunflower Oil. My hair adores! ~NMC
Ive always wondered if using one line helps and I think its cheaper than trying every new or really good product that people rave about since I just went natural ive decided to only use Oyin handmade to see how it goes
I recently started using the Lisa Akbari line, she is a trichologist based out of Memphis, TN. And I have to admit my twist-outs and braid-outs never held any definition but this line has my hair looking and feelling great! I have only been using it for like a month but my style actually have style!!
Personally I see the best results when I combine, catering to what my hair needs at the moment. I do find that products from the same line sometimes works best together, for an example a leave in and a gel from the same line.
I mix and match simply for cost effectiveness(I'm a broke college student lol). I would like to try the Shea Moisture line, but 10 bucks per product is a little too pricey for me right now.Currently I use Organix shampoo which runs me 6-7 dollars, HE Hello Hydration which was around 4 dollars, and Shea Moisture Curl enhancing smoothie which was 10 dollars.
@ Anon: I think after you realize most of these products have similar ingredients, it just becomes more convenient and cost effective to stick with a few lines. Depending on how you get your products, paying shipping for one item from different line can be unnecessarily wasteful both in terms of time and money. There is also something to be said for having a consistent regimen, How do you know if something works and how if you don't stick with it.
But, I realize for some it is fun to mix and match and match and mix, and having fun with the process should always be a priority. For me, what worked on my hair and how easy it was to obtain (shipping costs and speed, and my ability to get it on the ground if need be) were more important to me.
I'm thinking of trying out all the Gardinier Frutis line and then all of Pantene's Curly line then Aussie and perhaps the shea moisture line, not too sure yet. Still thinking.
I use the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil line. It is readily accessible at Target and the price is affordable. I like the shampoo because it doesn't make my hair hard (although I don't believe there are more than 2 drops of olive oil in it, if that). The deep conditioner works for me, I use the oil sheen for lubrication in a spray form occasionally, and I like using the pudding for hold and moisture on my twists.
I only use the Kinky Curly line (knot today, the kinky curly curling custard and the shampoo) with Kinky Curly. I get the best results when I use the products together. Also I only use Curlisto products with Curlisto I don't substitute anything in their line either. Actually I always use the Curlisto Unruly Paste no matter what product line I use. That stuff is the best!
there's so many good things out there i don't force myself to use one line only. i was this same way about makeup at one point, only using one line for everything. i was really missing out.
I wish I could stick with one line of products but I am indecisive period. I love the Shea Moisture products because of the way my hair feels and it's ability to detangle:) But Im waiting on my Oyin samples so I may stick with them depending on results:)
I see people have named Qhemet Biologics, but the two raved about creams did nothing special for my hair. I tried the Amla & Olive Heavy cream so many times in so many different ways because I was convinced I was doing something wrong. It didn't moisturize as well as my homemade butter and left my hair kinda greasy. I used what I consider a little to a medium amount to a lot. I used it on wet hair, damp hair, dry hair, in the morning alone, in the night alone, combined with something else. All nothing special. I was so bummed because every single person raves about it. I am still trying to make it work because given all the raves, I feel something must be wrong with what I am doing. I don't think my hair is all that unique.
In addition to my homemade mixing, I use two lines: Curl Junkie and Oyin Handmade. These are the lines that I have gotten the best results with and I have been able to find all products I need to condition and style my hair from them. I cleanse my hair with an African black soap head to toe wash and whip some butters together and use as a sealant (Avocado, Murumuru, Cupuacu, and Mango butters with some light oils).
I used the whole line of Kinky Curly and Uncle Funkys Daughter. I found that I really didn't need the expensive shampoo and instant (wash out) conditioner. I like HEH and Trader Joes.
Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Knot Today Leave in works best together.
I use a variety of products but mostly Shea Moisture. I was just thinking about using one product line today. I think I'll experiment with Oyin Handmade or Shea Moisture only for all of next month.
Devacurl!

Shea Moisture is my main product line. I rotate between Tresemme Naturals conditioner and Aussie Moist conditioner.
Oyin Handmade!! I do want to try Qhemet Biologics's creams (I've been saying that for a year now, lol).
Shea Moisture is the only product line I use. Everything else is homemade with natural ingredients.
Love Qhemet!!!
As a porous 4C, I've had the most success with Qhemet although I like a few Jane Carter products too.
I love Silk Elements…Especially the Mixed Curls Leave in Conditioner!
I've tried a few of Qhemet products and I liked them but I must say as far as twistouts and moisture, Oyin's whole line worked beautifully. As a matter of fact, when I switched to another product (product junkyism), my hair suffered for it.

I've tried Qhemet because of all the rave reviews. I was not a fan of the products. Actually they left my hair dull, dry, and with a white coating.
Everything Qhemet!
I recently started using the Lisa Akbari line, she is a trichologist based out of Memphis, TN. And I have to admit my twist-outs and braid-outs never held any definition but this line has my hair looking and feelling great! I really like Oyin Handmade, however, I do want to try Qhemet. Looking forward to their sale coming up soon!

Is there an advantage to only using one product line as opposed to swapping products here and there? Just curious……
No, I use products from 2 lines. I use Shea Moisture shampoo and Qhemet Biologics conditioners and moisturizers.
Nope. Mix and match.

Oyin products have been good to me. I am interested in trying Qhemet products once I run out of my Oyin items. Give us updates.

Shea Moisture hands down…particularly the Curl and Shine line…
Shea Moisture works for me…cleansing, conditioning & styling.
I used the whole line of Kinky Curly and Uncle Funkys Daughter. I found that I really didn't need the expensive shampoo and instant (wash out) conditioner. I like HEH and Trader Joes.
Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Knot Today Leave in works best together.

Bee Mine Products…hands down!!!
Shea moisture also, their whole line is wonderful!!!
Qhemet and Curl Junkie! U can't go wrong!!! 🙂
Kinky Curly
Curl Junkie and Donna Marie
cosign on Qhemet!
Qhemet!!
The only product line in which I love most everything is Qhement Biologics.
Shea Moisture! I use other products other than theirs, but that is the only line where everything I've tried from it works well for me.
