Was at the Linger Martini Lounge for a bday party. This is a twist out using Shea Moisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Milk and/or Oyin’s Whipped Shea Butter.

Headed to work rocking a 2 day old twist-out with a part down the middle!

I love your site! I’m at work, sporting a 4-day old twist-out using Curls Souffle.

My look for the 4th of July…cool and comfortable w/ my fro in all its fabulous glory!!!

Love your blog and your helpful tips and tricks! On this particular FIERCE FRIDAY I was en route to a summer fashion show in pouring down rain (gotta love Seattle) and was super short for time. I had been wearing a bun all week and needed a style that would revive my tresses. A flat twist-out on semi-dry, stretched out hair for a tousled tropical look! I only had it twisted for 2 hours and then unraveled with my own special mixture! Thanks again Nikki! 🙂

I took this picture in my favor spot, “my car” on my way to church. It was my first successful flat twist-out. My new staple style, now that my hair is long enough. I am 6 months fully natural, 16 months relaxer free!

Send in your favorite picture with a caption detailing where you were (or where you were headed to), along with a brief description of your hairstyle, to nikki@curlynikki.com. I’ll post several each Friday. Be sure to use ‘Fierce Friday’ as the subject line!
We always need more!

I can't believe Boogie fell off the wagon; from yogurt to White Castle! She is adorable and growing by the day. I love the picture gallery displaying all of our beautiful children of color. Thank you for the inspiration!
Aaele I agree about finding your own style. I wish I could find someone to nicely shape my hair when its short. But I got tired of people f…in up and sometimes it would be a great haircut and other times it would be jacked up. I tried cutting it myself and it didn't come out even and it was hard for me to shape the neckline. I really think if these stylists can learn to cut short naturals and shape them to the face nicely they would get more business. I have what is a "male pattern" of baldness in the temples so it is crucial "for me" to have a style which doesn't look so masculine on me.
By the way, you did a fantastic job with your cut.
Those replies about the babies stomach issues were hilarious…. Saadiya and Jasmine loving the hairstyles they look great.
I'm sure Boog had a diaper disaster as a direct result of that White Castle cheese burger, In my family we call them gut burgers for that very reason lol
Boogie is getting so big! Especially loving everyone's twist outs/flat twists outs. ~KF519
Your baby is so darn adorable! LOL I can't believe she got hold of some sh** burgers! Sorry, that's what my fam refers to them as…they do what they say…may you sh**!
Nikki, Why did you give Boog belly bombers??? LOL!!! That poor baby must have been miserable afterwards.
Boogie is looking like a big girl, and I'm loving all these twist outs. Especially Jasmine, Saadiya, and Angie! Ya'll rock on!
