Hola chicas!
It’s that time again! The images below are of CN readers at their flyyest…at work, on the town, and with the fam. Showing us all that natural hair is not a fad, it’s a way of life…an extension of our beauty! Click on the images to enlarge them:
I was headed out to enjoy my last day in New Orleans/Essence Festival ’11. I’m rocking a week old twist-out. It took me 2 yrs to FINALLY perfect the twist-out, but by golly, I finally got it!! π

Hey Nikki! So I’m in my 9th month of transitioning and just wanted to share my twist-out result from today! I thought it turned out great! Thank you for this awesome site! It keeps me motivated! Gotta get back to work! Much love π

Day 5 after my first henna in almost 10 years. Now if I could just get my ends to behave…

Headed to church this past Sunday. Trying something new…using flowers to sweep some of my hair off my face.

I love your site!!! It has helped me out a great deal since going
natural. This pic is of me before heading out for a day out
with my husband. This is a twist-out done using Shea Moisture Coconut
and Hibiscus mist, Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie and Coconut oil/water
mix. I love being natural!!! Please visit my site:

I read the hair threading or “ghana-plaits” tutorial that you featured a few days ago and decided to submit a picture.
In the picture, my hair is in an afro that looks like a blow out, but it is actually the result of hair that was threaded, then loosened and combed. This is me right before heading out to church.
Thank you, and thank you more for a very wonderful and informative resource for natural haired women. The first time I went natural, I didn’t have these resources so I am very grateful. Glad your baby is doing better. God bless you & have a wonderful weekend. π

Check me out on City island with friends an family having an awesome time. This (my hair) is a result of a co-wash and air dry. The trick that works for me is to leave a little conditioner in my hair and not touch my curls until they are completely dry.
(Treseme climate control conditioner ). Xoxoxo

This is a pic of me and my daughter at the park (about 3 years ago), after the big chop. I realized that I didn’t have the patience for transitioning, I’m all about going big or going home. I went natural because I wanted to love my hair in its natural state and I wanted to be inspiration for my daughter to love her hair.

Hey Nikki! This is me headed to the City Walk in Orlando last weekend. I only had 30 mins to get ready so I cowashed, applied Oyin’s Hair Dew and Shine & Define then blowdried my hair and fluffed it out. I love the way it came out!
Send in your favorite picture with a caption detailing where you were (or where you were headed to), along with a brief description of your hairstyle, to nikki@curlynikki.com. I’ll post several each Friday. Be sure to use ‘Fierce Friday’ as the subject line!
We always need more!
I am sooooo elated about being featured on Fierce Friday. THANK YOU for all the compliments. You all had me gushing with happiness π
@Kim- I did a dry twist out on blowdried hair. I only blow dry my hair enough to stretch it, not to straighten it. When I take my twist down, I lubricate my fingertips in anti-frizz serum and then unravel. It helps to combat frizz.
@Elexis THANKS π In order to preserve my twist outs, I retwist my hair at night in about 7-10 big chunky twists (due to my head size…lol)
Love Dalia's hair too! It's the bomb. I agree would love to see a feature on her. Yes, where can we find you.
@Nikea: If that's a WEEK old twistout I want to know your secret lol. It looks great!
