Gia, My Toothless Wonder
Gia Nicole- my incredibly gifted, ambitious and gorgeous child who skipped preschool and went straight to college, won The Nobel Peace Prize, and is slated to run for president in 2016- is 13 months today!

Although she started boogying in the womb, first signed at 8 months and walked at 10 months… it took her 13 damn months to grow a tooth and a quarter. 1.25 teeth. Most babies her age have around 8, but Gia, the toothless wonder, was all gums until right before her first birthday, just cutting number 2 last night. And sweet baby Jesus… what a night it was.

Gia, My Toothless Wonderforever tearing up ish

Gia, My Toothless Wonderwhy everyone I talk to sounds like they’re in a hole… she’s destroyed my phone… but it keeps her quiet πŸ™‚

Great stories Nikki, keep them coming. Gia gets cuter every time I log on.

I'm with sweet, love hearing about the adventures of Gia and her mom ;).

Both my sons did not get their first tooth until they were nearly a year. I thought it was strange because my cousin's sons had a bunch of teeth by then.

Girl, Caitlyn was walking around with a whole rack for her first birthday in May…maybe that's why everyone think she's older. She starting teething at 1.5 months and cut the two bottoms a few days before she turned 3 months. So she never really had bad teething eperiences she was a seasoned pro from jump πŸ™‚ Baby number two will be 1.5 months tomorrow and slobbering up a storm…so I guess I'm ready for round two!

I love me some Boog though, what's her winter hair regimen? My youngest hair and hers are very similar.

thanks for the update on the Boogie chronicles! Absolutely love your stories!

Yeah to the teeth and the play group! I'm glad that she's exploring (kinesthetically / visually)her surroundings, and tearing things up. I'd actually be concerned if it was the opposite.

Don't worry, Boog is in a part of a special elite club that includes my daughter. She will be two next month and she didn't get her first tooth until around 14 months and right now she has about 10. Her gums are swollen and I can see a few more trying to peak through. But it sure doesn't stop her from tearing up everything I put in front of her! LOL

    She's so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

  • Samantha says:

My son is 19 months and only has four teeth that didn't start to pop until he was 12-13 months. He loves brushing his four teeth and even tries to spit in the sink (of course this is just him leaning over the sink and making a spitting noise).

  • Deia@LoveInTangles says:

Ha ha! My first boy, who is 21 mos. got his first 2 teeth at 10 mos, then 2 more at 13 mos.

What is up with Gia's "protective style"/one twist in the center of her head? Adorable!!! Love updates on her, keep them coming! Cyber-Auntie

  • Rhonda C says:

Gia! I love her! "Tearing up ish" = intellectual curiosity! She has mechanical engineering potential (I recognize the trait) – she just wants to see how ish works! LOL

Glad to see you joined a playgroup. It will keep both of you sane.

I'm 35 weeks preggers and I love these musings and looking back at the old ones to compare feelings and symptoms. I too despise super walmart and choose to shop at the Target next to it lol…I cnt wait to have these moments with my son

  • CURLYNIKKI says:

@dental hygenist anon, good point! Thanks! I bought her a little tooth scrubber thing with the 'okay if she swallows' toothpaste. Is it good to start using it?

  • CURLYNIKKI says:

    Thanks guys!

I actually just joined the Mommies and Daddies of Happy Valley, a group that has tons of monthly play dates and things of that nature. I'm excited!

As far as daycare/pre-k, I'm thinking when she hits 2. I need her to be able to talk so she can tell me what the hell happened πŸ™‚

mine son did not get all his teeth until he was 2.5 years old. and as a dental hygienist the longer she has no teeth the likely hood of any tooth drama (cavities and such) lessens. so its good to have a toothless grin for a while.

  • Mylah says:

Yay for teethies! =) Mine is the opposite…a little 10 month old alien baby with 7 teeth (lol).

    She is so cute!

  • Miche_al says:

Dare I say I love her Alfalfa sprout on top of her head??? She is too cute for words.

  • honeybrown1976 says:

She'll be okay. Stop comparing her with other kids, lol.

But, I do agree with the other poster. Let her socialize around other kids and she might calm down a bit. Are there any play areas/groups nearby?

Aww how cute! Another milestone for the little one. Out of curiosity, when (if ever) will you be sending her to daycare for more social interaction?
