My name is Gabbrielle and I wanted to join the many woman/men that are also willing to give thanks as well. I would like to give thanks for tons of things that have happened in my life. There are so many things to be thankful for, however, I will be short.
First and foremost, I HAVE to give thanks to the Almighty and Powerful God that I serve here on this earth. I am thankful that he saved a wretch like me and I am thankful my God lets me see another day, each and every day that I wake up in the morning. Without God in my life, I do not know where I would be and if I would be! Everything that has happened to me is due to the favor of the Lord in my life! I am grateful and thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Next, I would like to give thanks for my FAMILY! My family is my biggest supporter throughout anything that I do, and has been since I could remember. It is so nice to know that you have aunts and uncles that care about you and that you can run to and talk to about whatever you are concerned with at any given time. One of the biggest things I am grateful for from my family is that I have been able to see them succeed in their own lives. In return, it helps me to know that even though times can get rough and everyone makes mistakes, I know that it is possible for me to achieve the same (if not greater) goals that they did!
I am also thankful for my own family that I have: my husband Paul and my daughter Layla. These two are EXTREMELY important in my life and they give me that will power to go on each and every day.
And without further to do, I am very recently thankful for going full throttle natural. When I say this, I mean my hair has been chemical free for about three to four years now, however, I never knew how to style my own hair, and I resulted in wearing sew-in weaves all the time.
Thanks to my mother and CurlyNikki’s story, I have been able to step out on faith with my own natural hairstyles. It was not until I saw that my mom became natural with her hair for a couple of months that I decided to go natural myself!
Some do not understand the huge benefits for going natural like others do, and I am truly thankful that I have control over my own hair and can express myself the way I have wanted to for years, but never knew how. Thanks to all those beautiful naturals out there who posted pictures, posted YouTube videos, and most of all posted the truth about natural hair!
Gabby I really want to go natural but I have hangups about my hair, (I think that society has driven wrong things about black peoples hair in my mind. Your hair is so beautiful, underneath all of my straight hairs wigs as soon as all this chemical is out I am going to step out and let the world know how think and wonderful my REAL hair is! Thanks for the story.
gorgeous picture!
