I am so thankful for this year. There were some times that we weren’t sure I would be around.
I have several serious conditions, one in which I have several seizures a day. At one point, I was having eight to ten seizures a day and needed to have someone with me at all times.
I never thought I would live to see the end of this year. I am so thankful that God has gotten my seizures to six seizures a week, which is still hard, but I am so very thankful.
Next, I decided to love me naturally. I have been natural for three years. I first went natural because of being pregnant and not wanting to harm my child with the chemicals in the relaxers. Little did I know that this was the best decision I ever made. I love my curls! It literally changed my life, it encouraged me to eat healthy, use all natural products on my hair and skin as well as on my family’s.

My daughter, who is three, and I have bonded beautifully over our curls. She loves touching my hair and thinks curls are so beautiful. Now, as I face a new health challenge, limited mobility in my legs, I am thankful for each step I take. Being natural has taught me that God loved me enough to hand craft my head of hair and because of that I treat my hair with great care and love.
I encourage everyone to take each day as a blessing.
Thanks everyone for the great feedback and suggestions. I truly appreaciate it:)
Read "THE CURE Heal Your Body Save Your Life" by Dr. Timothy Brantley (pages 175-178 in particular). It is a very profound book. God bless. – Kelly D.
Beautiful story. I was the same way when pregnant with my son; I had the urge to go natural after my last touch-up relaxer early 2009. And even now after having him, I refuse to ever go back.
God bless you hon, thank you for sharing. 🙂
